Kaidoh sat alone in the cafeteria, eating some soup and enjoying the silence. Everyone had gone back to their rooms to rest or had gone out to play tennis since tutoring was over and there wasn't anything to do until the matches later that evening. He ran a hand through his hair that was in complete disarray, his bandanna sitting next to him on table.
Yagyuu, having walked blearily into the cafeteria, suddenly spotted Kaidoh's hair. Seeing someone with such messy hair bothered him, so he went over to the other boy, comb in hand. Mostly, he blamed it on his lack of sleep, since it was pretty uncharacteristic of him to walk up to someone and start fixing their hair.
"Fshuu...." Kaidoh shifted uneasily as the older boy played with his hair, "Yagyuu-senpai...what are you doing?"
Yagyuu peered over KAidoh's head, having finished fixing the major bits. "What does it look like I'm doing?" He said, moving a few strands of hair that had been on the wrong side of the part he had made.
He hissed again quietly and turned a light shade of red, "Why are you doing it then?"
"Because your hair is messy." He said bluntly, "Why else would I be doing it?"
Seigaku's buchou looked skeptical, "You know I usually wear a bandanna, right?"
"That doesn't excuse your having messy hair," Yagyuu said, taking away the green and white bandana and putting it in his pocket.
Kaidoh looked up at him in irritation, he didn't like his bandannas being touched, but Yagyuu was a senpai and he wasn't going to snap at him. Instead he settled for looking away and sticking out his lip in something that closely resembled a pout.
'His pout is adorable,' Yagyuu thought, 'but why....'
"Why do you always say Fshuuu?" He asked out loud.
He had never really been sure when he'd started making that sound and he didn't know why, other than his father and little brother did it too, "It's a family thing..."
"I see. Fshuu." Yagyuu said, imitating Kaidoh for a moment.
Hearing his senpai hiss made his eye twitch, he silently hoped that he didn't sound like that, as he spoke he stood and picked up after himself, "It sounds weird when you do it...."
Yagyuu smirked slightly and put on Kaidoh's bandana, slouching slightly to match the other boy.
"Is this better?" He asked pitching his voice lower to sound like Kaidoh.
It was one thing to take his bandanna, it was another thing entirely to wear it. He reached out and took Yagyuus glasses off of his face, careful not to break them. "Let's see how you like it," he muttered and put the glasses on.
Yagyuu squinted slightly as his glasses were removed. Seeing Kaidoh with his glasses on, Yagyuu got an idea. He grabbed the other boy by the arm and led him into an unused hallway. Stopping to the side of a deserted hall, Yagyuu removed his shirt and jacket, handing them to Kaidoh.
Kaidoh was not happy about being dragged around and he was about to demand an explination when Yagyuu pulled off his shirt. His complaint died in his throat as he watched Yagyuus muscles flex when he pulled off the shirt. He had to look away to keep his face from turning red, but despite his slight embarrassement, he didn't hesitate to pull off his own shirt and offer it to Yagyuu. He took the older boys shirt and jacket and pulled them on, unsure of why he was going along with this.
Putting on Kaidoh's clothes, Yagyuu felt himself settle in a bit more to the change. "I wonder if we could do this for the rest of the day?" He asked.
"For the rest of the day?" He looked at Yagyuu surprised and raised his voice up to a more Yagyuu-like pitch, "What for?"
"To see if we can?" He said, keeping his voice at Kaidoh-level pitch, "And it would be fun."
He felt a shiver run down his spine, Yagyuu's ability to mimick him almost perfectly was incredible. He wondered silently if he really looked and sounded like that. "Do you think anyone would notice, besides my brother and Inui."
"I'm not sure," Yagyuu said, thinking, "Maybe if I stayed clear from Inui-san and Kaidoh Hazue- kun and you tried to avoid Yanagi-san and Yukimura-buchou. I believe the others are slightly less observant, os you'd have a better chance of going unnoticed. Meet back here tonight?" He ended, turning in the direction of the tennis courts.
He nodded in understanding, "I will," he didn't want to be found out by one of the demons of Rikkaidai, that would be too awkward for words. He paused as Yagyuus words set in, "Wait, that's it?! You're going to leave like that?!"
"Well we could stick around here, but, there aren't very many people to test out our disguises on. I want to put my spare contacts in anyway, Fshuu." Yagyuu said, turning back to Kaidoh (Who he couldn't see very clearly).
The younger boy resisted the urge to hiss and instead pushed up the newly aquired glasses, "Alright, but hang on a second..." He moved closer to Yagyuu and adjusted his hair so it stuck out from under the bandanna just how he liked it, "There."
Watching Kaidoh push his glasses up approvingly, Yagyuu flinched slightly when his hair was messed up. "How do you keep from fixing your hair?" He asked.
Kaidoh shrugged, "You get used to it." He reached up and touched at his hair gently so as not to mess it up, "I don't understand how you can have your hair parted like this. It itches."
"Fshuu. Your just not used to it yet." He said, looking over Kaidoh's disguise.
Kaidoh had always had perfect eyes which was a big help in tennis, but as such he'd never had to wear glasses other than the last time he'd switched with Yagyuu. He pushed them up and rubbed at his nose, "These things make my nose sore..."
"They do that." Yagyuu said, going over to correct Kaidoh's posture and make him stand straighter.
Kaidoh mumbled something and gave him a stern look, "I don't hiss that much." He crossed his arms loosely across his stomach as he spoke.
"Good, it was getting rather tiring. I never did get used to saying 'puri' either." Yagyuu said, correcting Kaidoh's crossed arms so they were neater and less Kaidoh-ish.
He stood up straight to mimick Yagyuu and instantly felt the muscles in his back rebel, "You stand like this all the time?"
"Of course. Niou said something like the same thing when I made him stand straight for the first time too." Yagyuu said, recalling the time Niou had suddenly taken off his glasses and put them on, declaring that they would switch places.
"Well, I don't," He moved behind the other boy and pushed on his lowerback slightly, forcing him to slouch. "Something is telling me Niou would be easier to switch with," he mumbled.
Yagyuu sighed, "Do you really think so?" He said, for a brief moment going into his Niou- switch, "I bet we could fool everyone if we all practised switching often enough..." He said, taking a thinking pose. "Niou-kun is not the best of people to be," He said, recalling the time Sanada had come after him having been switched with Niou and nearly slapped him for something Niou had done.
"You, me AND Niou-senpai?" The thought gave him a headache and he hissed quietly without thinking. "He's really that bad?"
"Yes, sometime. Don't hiss, it looks strange coming from Yagyuu-senpai." Yagyuu said, going over to massage Kaidoh's temples slightly. "If you come to my room I can get my spare pair of non-prescription glasses for you, I think that would help ease your head ache."
Kaidoh closed his eyes and relaxed some, it felt odd having someone rubbing his temples like that, but it wasn't bad. "Thank you, Ya--" He paused and corrected himself, "Kaidoh-kun."
Yagyuu fixed his expression so that he was scowling slightly and reached up to fix his bandana. Crossing his arms, he looked Kaidoh over.
Yagyuu pause and looked back at Kaidoh's hair. It was black.
"I might have some one-day-hairspray you can use on it," He said, leading Kaidoh down the hall to his room
Kaidoh nodded and followed him, keeping his back straight as a plank as he walked. It was hard, but doable.
Yagyuu slouched and led the way to his room. When they reached his room, he opened the door, hoping his roommates wouldn't be there. Sighing in relief that they were not, he went to look through his bag to find the hair dye. He knew it was in there somewhere, since he never took it out.
Kaidoh peered over his shoulder and watched him dig through the bag, "You have a lot of stuff in there..." He mumbled. This was all too normal feeling for his taste. He'd done this once before, yeah, but he shouldn't be this comfortable with it.
Yagyuu finally pulled out an innocent looking can.
"We should do this in a bathroom," he said, leaving the room with Kaidoh and closing the door behind them.
"Of course," he said in Yagyuus voice. As they were walking out he saw the persciption free glasses Yagyuu had mentioned and switched them with the ones he was wearing. Once they reached the bathroom he checked to make sure it was empty before locking the door behind them. He pulled off the new glasses and put them in his pocket. "Ready?"
"Yes," Yagyuu said, pulling on a pair of disposable gloves. He advanced towards Kaidoh to put the dye in the other boy's hair, running his fingers through said haid to make sure he got all of it. Kaidoh certainly did have thick hair.
He closed his eyes and tried to ignore the horrible smell of the dye. He waited until the other boy was done and opened his eyes. "How long do we have to wait?"
"Half an hour," Yagyuu said, pulling out another packet of instant hair dye (black) and doing his own hair. It wouldn't do for Kaidoh to have brown hair after all. He didn't require assistace because he'd done it so often. Finishing quickly, he waited until Kaidoh's hair was done and motioned for the other boy to go rinse it out.
He rinsed his hair and ran his hand through it to fluff it, his hair always dried really fast and within 5 minutes it had dried completely and while he waited for Yagyuu to wash the dye out of his hair he examined himself in the mirror. He put the glassed back on and saw Yagyuu(with slightly messier hair) looking back at him.
Washing the die out quickly, Yagyuu dried his hair, taking out his comb to fix his hair and put on the bandana, he once again noticed Kaidoh's hair. Going over to fix it, he quickly had it looking exactly like his own normally did.
Kaidoh looked at himself again and this time he couldn't see anything different from how Yagyuu normally looked and one look at Yagyuu now felt like looking in the mirror. The older boy had seemed to settle into Kaidohs normally gruff expression without any problem and he realized he was standing up straight without thinking about it.
Yagyuu gruffly patted Kaidoh on the shoulder when he'd finished with his hair.
"Yagyuu-senpai, where shall we go next?" He asked, trying not to sound to much like how Ootori had sounded when he'd last seen him.
"Sure," Yagyuu agreed, picking up his racket bag
He picked up his own, it had become so much of a habit to carry it with him here that he didn't even realize he had it. He paused and then handed his bag to Yagyuu, "Be good to my rackets and don't lose any of my bandannas."
"You have extra bandanas in your tennis bag?" Yagyuu asked, pausing in his handing over of his own racket bag.
"...just in case..." He murmured, embarrassed, and took the bag from Yagyuu. It was heavier than his, "Do you have your wrist weights in here?"
"Just my extras. I'm wearing mine at the moment. I hardly ever take them off, so it just feels wrong when I do remove them." Yagyuu contemplated, then took off his wristbands and bent down to take off his ankle weights, handing them to Kaidoh. "You should wear them. You can reduce the weight if you want though."
He glared, "I don't need to lower the weight." He strapped them on and experimentally moved his arms in a swinging motion. No wonder the whole team wore these. They provided just the right amount of strain on his arms. He was going to have to remember to get some of these for himself.
Yagyuu lightened his scowl for a moment. "Good. Is there anything I need to know about your training schedule or anything?"
"You won't be able to do my menu so don't worry about it. The time I run changes everyday so don't worry about anyone seeing you around." He unzipped the yellow jacket a little more, "What about you?"
"I haven't been getting much sleep lately, so if you slip up, just say it's that. Try not to get between Atobe and Ryome when they're bickering, it's not a pleasandt place to be." Yagyuu responded, "If you have something to ask, I'll probably be around camp somewhere."
"If there is a chance for open doubles later," Kaidoh unlocked the bathroom door and paused with his hand on the handle, "let's play together, Kaidoh-kun." He smirked, and adjusted the bag on his shoulder before opening the door.
"Sure," Yagyuu said smirking for a moment before following Kaidoh out of the bathroom.
