Who: Inui and Mizuki
What: Inui invited Mizuki to a karaoke parlor and after a bit of friendly teasing, the two datamen come to a conclusion that experimentaion + practice - love = confidence and success. A forumla which (in theory) will help improve their other, less platonic relationships.
When: Last weekend, November 16th
Where: Karaoke in town, Drama department/audio room
Warning: NC-17 for language and graphic sex (This part is only rated about PG13)
Karaoke, hm? Mizuki couldn't really say he'd been looking forward to it much that week, but he hadn't been dreading it or anything either. Honestly, he was rather apathetic toward the whole thing. Going into town, singing and having some (apparently free) drinks (non-alcoholic of course)...it was so much like what he used to do with his father and sisters that it just didn't hold anything rare or special enough to make him excited about attending.
At least it was going to be spent with company he got along with now and he was genuinely curious to find out if Inui could even sing well. Mizuki closed the spread sheet on his computer and checked the time in the corner of the screen before asking, without looking up, "What time are we leaving again?"
Inui looked up from the ciruitry he was rewiring and then looked at the time. "Well I suppose whatever time you felt like really. I've already had a shower, I just need to get changed and then I'm ready." he stated, pulling out the flyer that he'd been given a few days beforehand.
Shuffling over to the other side of the room on his wheely chair, Inui handed the piece of paper to Mizuki to show him. "Though since drinks are free between 8-9, we should go stomtime around then, don't you think? Leaving at 7 from here would be a good idea. It's 6 now, so that'd give us plenty of time."
Mizuki nodded, taking the flyer into his hands and reading over the details for the first time. Being the person he was, Mizuki generally liked to read absolutely everything written on things like this--even if they were tiny print legal words at the bottom that never applied to anything..copyrights even. After all, that's what they'd been written for right?
He'd managed to reach the end of the handout without any objections until the got to the last line of fine printing and he paused, almost certain he had misread. So he scanned over the line again, slower. And again. And again, mouthing it silently the last time as if he had to convince himself it was really there.
"Ne...Did you read all of this thing?" He asked, not taking his eyes away from that damn print.
"Hm?" Inui raised an eyebrow. If he had to be honest, he hadn't. He just thought the idea of going to karaoke would be fun. It wasn't something he'd particularly thought needed to be entirely read through. Well, he would have read the fine print on the flyer, had they have signalled on the 'free drinks' part that there was fine print to go with it. Usually they used a * or something. Since there was no indicator, he hadn't thought anything of it.
"Not particularly, why do you ask?" he pushed his chair over next to Mizuki's and leaned over a little, looking at the flyer with him.
That figured. He didn't think Inui would have suggested it if he had read the tiny print at the bottom. Or more specifically the last few lines of the tiny print at the bottom. Damn, how cheap and discreet could they get??
Mizuki sighed dramatically and pointed at the section that was causing him so much grief, before reading it aloud."Free drinks provided only to those in costume." He then proceeded to glare at the line. "In costume? What the hell?" There had been no clarifying follow up sentence either. Costume? Really now? Agh.
Inui hummed at that. Well, that wasn't all that bad, was it? It was just a costume. They didn't specify what kind of costume so anything that was obviously a costume would acquire them free drinks. Maybe it was just the way Inui's logic worked that prevented him from seeing this as an obstacle to them going out.
"Well all we need to do is go in costume." Inui said simply, looking to the other, rather non-plussed. "It's not going to be that difficult. Besides, they don't say what kind of costume you need to dress in, so practically anything could work."
Mizuki stared back rather flatly. There's no way Inui could be serious. Except...he seemed pretty serious. Oh, damn it all. "But I don't own anything like that," he stated rather irritably, "My sisters were the ones who were interested in that kind of junk."
Inui still looked at Mizuki as if it wasn't a problem. "I don't own any of that either, but we're at a school that has a rather elaborate drama department." Inui pointed out in his matter of fact kind of way, adjusting his glasses. He was sure they could find a suitable costume for each of them there.
"It's not like they're going to miss it over the weekend, there aren't any performances or practices on at all."
Oh hell no. Mizuki's blank look melted into one of disbelief rather quickly. "You can't be serious," he mumbled, voicing just what he'd been thinking moments ago. Then again... what was he so worried about? Costume...costume didn't have to mean the same thing as what his sisters always forced him into. There were costumes for boys. Why had he thought there wasn't?
".....You know...Actually, that's a good idea."
Inui blinked at Mizuki's sudden change of mood. He didn't quite understand what was going on in the other dataman's head, but it didn't particularly worry him as Mizuki agreed to his idea. Of course it was a good idea, he wouldn't have said it if he didn't think it was. Besides, the drama department was usually left well alone over the weekends. No one would know that they borrowed two outfits if they were careful enough (and between Mizuki and himself, he doubted that they could get any more careful than when they decided to execute a plan).
"Of course. Do you want to go costume shopping?" He joked, a sort of sly smirk tugging at one corner of his lips as he got up from his seat. "No one should see us if we leave for that side of the campus now."
Hmm~ Thinking of it as shopping, where he didn't have to pay at all, somehow made him a bit more eager to go through with this whole thing. Smirking, Mizuki stood and stepped to the side, gesturing for the taller boy to lead the way with an elaborate sweep of his arms. "After you, then~"
This event might actually be more fun than he thought.
Inui chuckled and opened the door for Mizuki. "Oh no dear sir, I insist. Beauty before brains after all." No, it wasn't a mean jab, it was actually a compliment and it sounded as such as well. It was lighthearted and surprisingly relaxed coming from someone like Inui.
Yes, Inui decided that this could be an extremely entertaining evening, what with them dressing up, raiding the drama department, singing karaoke and just in general not moping around their dorm room. A welcome distraction, Inui believed.
Ooh~ And a compliment too? Mizuki's smirk became just a touch more cocky as he exited their dorm and headed down the hallway to the side of the building Inui had indicated earlier. Because they were on the first floor, it was easier to slip out quickly and once outside, Mizuki looked up at the darkening sky briefly.
He grinned, almost automatically heading off toward the building where the drama department was located. He didn't need to look back to know Inui was following, and he didn't need to speak what he was thinking, because Inui probably already knew: This kind of distraction was just what he needed. What they needed. Something light, something amusing, something not associated with their relationship problems at all.
It's not like Inui could really fall behind Mizuki now was it? His legs were a damn sight longer than the other boy's so technically he was walking next to him, though was taking about one step to Mizuki's two or three. Probably one to every 2.28, he guesstimated. Idly, he wondered what he would be wearing when they got up there - moreover, what Mizuki would choose as well.
To be honest the thought of seeing Mizuki in costume amused him, though not as much as the thought of both of them in costume. It certainly would be a sight. Getting up to the drama department, Inui checked the halls for anyone wandering around before walking up to the locked door and pulling a small kit out of his pocket. Electronic locks - yes, this school was high tech, but that was also a downfall.
Folding open the little bag, Inui pulled out what looked like a credit card attached to a little keypad then then swiped it through the slot on the lock next to the door. Looking down at the little display, he waited.
Mizuki watched with amusement, doing his best to hide how impressed he was. Really, he shouldn't have been--he should have expected it--but at the same time, it was hard not to be.
"Nfu~ How long have you had that?" Curiousity mingled with his interest and he couldn't keep the question inside. "And what else have you broken into~?"
"I've had it for a while - and I haven't broken into anything here with it. This would be my first try at something that wasn't the front door to the dorm after hours. I tested it on that, since our IDs let us in anyway." Inui stated, punching a few of the buttons on the little pad and holding up a blank card with a magnetic strip on the back, showing it to Mizuki. "Watch this." he chuckled, putting the blank card into the back of the little device, snapping it shut and then pressing a green button on the front pad again.
A little red light flicked on at the side of the device and Inui waited. Around 15 seconds later that light went green and the top of the card popped out of a slot at the bottom of the machine. There was a very obvious look of deviousness on Inui's face as he pulled it out and then swiped it through the lock, the confirmation light on the door turning green and unlocking for them.
"I love this thing." He chuckled, pushing open the door and sliding the card into his pocket.
Woah. As much as Mizuki hated to admit--this felt too fuckin' cool. Like a movie, even if he knew damn well how it had worked. Also, he was envious now. He really, really, reaaaallly wanted one of those.
....Not that he'd probably use it for anything good. But it would be useful to him.
Biting back whatever praise was threatening to spill from his lips, Mizuki followed and looked around the room in scrutiny. The lights were off, so the only illumnation came from the dull orange and yellow of the sunset through the windows. "So..." he started, eyes scanning the walls for a lightswitch.
"Don't turn the lights on in the main room." Inui said, reaching behind himself for Mizuki and tugging him in the direction of the closet gently. He didn't keep contact for long, but it was enough to get the other away from the switches that were on the wall. Cameras were everywhere, but Inui had found there hadn't been any in the drama room's walk in robe, changing rooms or make up area. Now he didn't know why that was so, but he'd only ever seen footage from the main room of students going in and out.
The cover of dark and the bare minimum illumination in the room would ensure that they were unseen (well at least unrecognisable) until they got into the other part of the room.
"Ah...O..kay?" Mizuki was genuinely confused as to why, since he really rather preferred to, you know, see what the hell he was doing, but whatever. After the contact was broken, he brushed past the taller boy and even further into the dressing room, disliking just how dark it was in there. It made him slightly uncomfortable, but he could feel the racks of clothing before he could see them.
"So," he asked with a rather sarcastic tone, "Are we getting dressed in the dark, or are we allowed to turn on the lights in here at least, hm?"
"In here is fine." Inui said, feeling along the wall for the switch after closing the door to the room they just entered, now rendering it pitch black. "Just not out there." With a bit of a wince, Inui flicked the light on, the room they were standing in going from dark to bright in an instant.
Groaning softly, Inui shook his head and rubbed his eyes a bit before everything came back into focus. Wow, he hadn't realised he had been that close to Mizuki. They were almost ontop of one another (as much as two people could be without, you know, actually touching, that is).
Mizuki didn't seem to mind the close proximity (though most likely he hadn't noticed), otherwise he would've been inching steadily away...except... His hands were on the clothes before the light had even come on, and now that he could see, they began sorting through the hanging pieces, the soft clicking of hangers the only sound in the room. He had a bad habit of shopping far too much whenever he was given the chance, so it came as no surprise (to him at least) that he'd be flipping through the costumes as rapidly as he was, pausing only slightly from time to time in consideration before continuing.
"Well, if you're planning on making it to karaoke in time, shouldn't you start looking?" He didn't even taken his eyes away from the rack as he said it.
Inui blinked and then nodded. "Indeed." he replied, looking over to the more 'old' styles of costume. Browsing through all the options he had, it didn't take long for Inui to find and compile his outfit, after all there were only certain things that would fit him and certain types of clothing that he looked good in. Yes, despite his usual choice of attire, Inui did consider things like what he actually would look good in or what would suit him - even if it was only a very minor concern.
Wandering over to the props area, Inui picked out a few things and turned to Mizuki. "I'm going to go and put this on." he gestured with the bundle of clothes in his arms.
"Right," Mizuki mumbled distractedly, eyes still on the row of clothes in front of him and a small frown on his face. He waved a dismissive hand toward the other without looking at what he'd picked out, since it really didn't matter to him right now. What mattered was the issue staring him right in the face...and issue he had hoped not to confront, but here he was regardless.
"You go on, I'll change soon..." Yeah, right, if he could talk himself into it.
And change he did. Surprisingly enough everything he'd picked out looked how he'd planned it to be. There was always a certain level of excitement in him at the prospect of actually getting to do things like this. Why? Well for one, he'd never done them before and the other was the fact he often played in forum-based RPGs like World of Darkness, run by scripts that simulated dice rolling. They were good to keep him occupied when he'd finished all his homework and hadn't particularly wanted to go to sleep.
Of course, this small habit (which since coming to Evergreen, he hadn't indulged in) had an influence on what he chose to wear. Stepping out of the dressing room and adjusting his waistcoat, Inui looked to Mizuki out from under the brim of a rather old and mangled looking top hat. The long (and sleeveless) leather jacket he'd found hung from his shoulders and billowed out behind him when he walked, hands working to affix the gold pocket watch he'd found to the intricately designed bronze, gold and black waist coat he had on.
"So how does this look?" He slipped the watch into the waistcoat pocket - which incidentally had no shirt underneath it, it simply was his shirt. Pulling on fingerless leather gloves, he smoothed out the pinstripe slacks and turned around once. It was like something out of a Visual Kei video. That kind of old and yet new and somehow... dark look.
Mizuki spared a quick glance from the item in particular that he was pining agonizing over before his eyes returned back to the rack. He almost mumbled another dismissive sentence, but he did a double take, as if he wasn't quite sure he'd seen the right thing in that fast glance.
Oh, he had. Mizuki was staring now, eyes taking in the outfit with a look torn between amusement and question. Actually, Inui didn't look bad, he just looked like something he'd seen in one of his sister's music magazines or on one of the TV stations they watched. ".....It...looks...kinda scary," he admitted, though his tone didn't sound disapproving at all. Leave it to his mind to say one thing but his voice to give away what he really thought:
Cool.
"Scary?" Inui chuckled, pulling the collar of the leather jacket upwards. "Wonderful." He sounded all too amused about that, really. "Though I need make up for it. At least to finish it off, anyway." Walking over to Mizuki, he looked over the other's shoulder.
"You've been looking at that dress for a while now." he stated, nodding to the one in front of them both. "Why don't you go and try it on?" Inui wasn't really judgemental about that sort of thing, where he came from there was a 40% chance the girl in the bar you just picked up, wasn't a girl at all. It was something he was used to.
Mizuki immediately spluttered and shoved the dress to the side, as if he could pretend he hadn't been looking at it at all. "Wh- You're crazy! That's a dress! Why would I wear something like that?" He could soooo tell Inui didn't believe a word coming out of his mouth, but he was on the defense now and it was making him snappy.
"It was just admiring the design! Girls clothes are for girls."
Inui blinked and put a hand on Mizuki's shoulder. "It's all right." he said simply. "I think it'd look nice on you, actually." The statement was true enough, that dress looked nice and with Mizuki's pale skin, it'd look exceptional on him. Though that was just Inui's opinion.
"If you don't want to wear it, you don't have to though." Inui reached for the dress and pulled it off the rack, looking at it, holding it up to Mizuki. With a slight shrug of consideration, he put it back on the rack and looked to the other boy as if it were ultimately up to him. It's not like Inui could dictate what he would wear.
"I'll go and see if I can find some make up."
Was that an insult? It sure wasn't said like one....But shouldn't boys take things like 'you'd look good in girls' clothing' as a stab against their masculinity? Mizuki had always taken his sisters' words that way. Things like 'you're so cuuuute~' and 'you make such a good girl!' were words that boys weren't supposed to accept as compliments.
...Right?
Mizuki hesitantly took the dress from the hanger and looked at it in his hands as if it had caused him some great injustice or something. ".......You won't laugh at me?" He asked, clearly torn between his affection for female fashion and his bitterness from past experiences with it. There had always been laughter accompanying his sisters' words. It always made him feel like dying...or just becoming invisible or something-- a feeling that a person as show-offy as Mizuki absolutely hated to feel.
Looking to Mizuki he shook his head. "Why would I laugh at you? If I could pull it off, I'd do it." he chuckled, this time more at the image of himself trying to wear something like that. It just.. was a rather hilarious image. "Besides, I already said I thought it would suit you, did I not? I wasn't joking when I said it."
Inui moved back over to where Mizuki was and held the dress up against the other. "You should wear it." he then affirmed.
"........" Mizuki looked down at himself, hands still clutching the sides of the dress after Inui held it up to him. Maybe...it would work. It was a nicely crafted dress.... He almost felt bad for even thinking about it, but he'd get over it if he saw that he actually did look good in it--and if Inui kept to his word of not laughing at him. "....I'll be right back then," he mumbled, slipping off to one of the curtain divided dressing rooms.
His side of the curtain was silent for a long time, even after the ruffling of clothes, sliding of zippers, and whatnot had ended. In fact, he was very intently studying himself in the mirror, his eyes picking over his reflection with scrutiny. The dress....did look good on him. It was much like a maid's attire, only with more lace and volume--actually, it reminded him more of that...that Loli-stuff in the same magazines he'd thought he'd seen Inui's kind of outfit in.
The black and white played nicely off his dark hair and pale skin, and Mizuki almost thought his insecurities about this kind of clothing had completely left him. However, he remained behind the curtain, still admiring himself in silence--whether fear of judgment or pure narcissism kept him from leaving the mirror, even he didn't know.
Inui had found some liquid eyeliner and some theatrical make up and was quite happily giving himself black stitches across the bridge of his nose and to the other side of his face. Checking the time, he called out to Mizuki.
"Are you going to wear that one? We're going to have to leave in five minutes, so you need to make up your mind about it."
"Ah...yeah," Mizuki called back softly, still looking over himself in the mirror, hands fixing his hair a little bit more. (Thank God that he'd gotten his styling gel back.)
Quietly, as if he was still uncertain about drawing attention to himself, Mizuki folded up his normal clothes and left them in the corner for when he came back. Taking a deep breath and forcing himself to be casual, he pulled back the curtain and returned to the main costume room, purposefully avoiding looking at Inui but trying to pass if off as though he had something more interesting to look at.
Putting the pen down, Inui stood and turned, walking over to Mizuki. "Well then, shall we?" he asked, one hand on the light switch, the other offered to Mizuki in a rather gentlemanly fashion. Maybe it was different because he was in costume? Maybe it was just because he and Mizuki had gone through a ton of shit together... but it seemed to be getting easier to just relax with him, even to the point where contact (at least a minor level of it) wasn't starting to phase him all that much.
"If you're ready, we can go."
Mizuki almost sighed in relief when no words of critizism or laughter accompanied Inui's offer. Suddenly feeling more confident (which was more like, he was just back to normal), he placed his hand in the one offered to him. Perhaps this was part of being with a friend--just forgetting everything that was bohtering him for the moment and having...fun?
It wasn't that Mizuki didn't know how to have fun, but he often kept such tight control over everything that the oppertunity to be spontaneous and pleasantly suprised never seemed to occur. Not that he really enjoyed being spontaneous, but a little bit of something new never hurt.
"Nfu~well, let's go then~"
Flicking out the light, Inui chuckled and then opened the door into the main room, leading Mizuki out. Yes, this was fun, he decided. Very much so. It felt good to just relax and not particularly worry about anything for a while. Tonight would be good for that and he and Mizuki seemed to both be on the same page when it came to making the best of this opportunity (especially when they both seemed to get a kick out of being particularly devious).
"I find it amusing that we match." he said then, taking in their appearances rather casually as they got out of the room and into the main hallway.
Mizuki allowed the smirk to spread a little wider, almost like a smile. "Hmm, I do too, actually." He had to admit (to himself at least) that he'd always liked the idea of matching-couples, and he really wished that some day he and Yuuta could do something cute like that. Yes, cute. Shut up. It was adorable in his mind, and the idea of Yuuta doing something like that for him made it even more so.
Whatever divine being it was that loved them, Mizuki decided it must love them very much because they were lucky enough not to run into anyone in the hallway or on the school grounds. Grant it, most people were probably at dinner or studying, since the sun had almost set and club activites were over at this point...but he still found it amazing, especially considering how they were dressed. It's not like they really fit in...anywhere.
Except maybe Shibuya.
Or Harajuku.
Walking through the school grounds at this time was good for them. Everyone was at dinner, so they weren't going to be seen (and if they were, Inui was quite sure they wouldn't particularly be able to make out who they were from the windows of the dorm rooms, considering they'd steered quite clear of them) on their way off campus and into town.
By the time they had arrived, darkness was fully upon the town and people were steering rather clear of them on the streets (apart from those also in costume for the karaoke place event, it seemed to be a rather popular thing to do, but by no means were they unable to get a box reservation for the time they wanted.
"Hey, Mizuki.. let's take photos." Inui suggested, looking at his watch. They'd booked the box for eight after all and they had some spare time on their hands. "There's an arcade across the street."
"Photos?" Mizuki arched a brow, looking over to where Inui had indicated. "Like purikura?" Well, hadn't it been a while since he'd done anything like that! ....No, wait...
Now that he thought about it... "I don't think I've ever done anything like that before."
"Yeah." he replied, shrugging a shoulder. Inui personally liked purikura. He and Taka-chan had got lots when their parents told them about their engagement. Inui liked it because it reminded him that there were times when he hadn't been alone and when things had been fun. Now was one of those times, he thought. That and it would be great preserving a record of himself and Mizuki looking like they did right then.
"It's fun. They have wind machines and everything in there. We can even put sparkles in afterwards." Without a second thought, the larger boy had tugged the other over to the arcade with a chuckle and ducked them into a machine. Fishing around in his pocket he put the coins in the slot and waited for it to start up.
Mizuki brought hand up to pick at his hair almost subconsciously, pushing strands into what he felt was their 'proper' places and curling a few wisps by his cheek that hadn't really gone flat, but he'd imagined them to. Though Mizuki was highly photogenic, he always went through this unconscious moment of prepping, just in case he didn't look 100% fabulous already.
The machine started up and a female voice overrode the Jpop and other noises from the arcade, a signal that the camera was going to start soon. Mizuki hesitated for a moment--not used to doing it but unable to fight the sudden urge of the moment-- before holding up one hand in a V-sign a second before the first photo was taken.
Hm, that pose was oddly satisfying... Though he had to remind himself never to do it again after tonight.
Inui chuckled. Well wasn't that... cute...? Wait, what?
Well it didn't matter, there were lots of other photos to be taken, but seriously, they had to get more into it than that. Inui had found that the ones that turned out best were always when people were just dorking around inside the booth. There was just something about those photos he liked.
As a result, he ended up encouraging Mizuki to lighten up in the simplest way he knew how: leading by example. It seemed that in this situation, Mizuki was a little uncertain and had been constantly worried whether things were okay or not okay to do. At least that's how it had seemed to Inui. Though with encouragement on his part, it seemed Mizuki relaxed quite a bit and just started to let go - hence, he'd do the same with this.
God there could be some real hilarious pictures by the end of it - Inui was quite certain of this. As a start, Inui simply made a dorky V-sign pose behind Mizuki. The next shot was something a little more in character for what he was wearing, but he couldn't keep a straight face while doing it.
Whether or not Mizuki took the hint consciously was very much up for debate. He did, however, take the hint and after another hesitant V-sign, the rest of the photos came easily. He loosened up for the moment, doing silly things from pouting faces to full out posing with the other boy. It was dorky and somehow intimate (in that 'OMG BFF~!!' kind of way) but it was fun, and Mizuki had been able to laugh.
Actually laugh. Not the refined 'nfu' chuckling he usually did, or that stuck up scoff, but a bubbly, geuninely 'I can't belive I'm doing this and having fun--oh my god, you look ridiculous but so do I!' kind of way.
Dear god the photos were horrendous and hilarious all at the same time. It was great, well at least Inui thought it was. It was over all too quickly, really it was and then it came time to select the photos they wanted to print. There were a few that Inui really wanted to keep, like the horrible sentai team pose they'd done and the one where they had posed together in a 'hot evil guy and sexy maid' way. Really, it was just too priceless to pass up.
"We have to have this one too." He pointed out with a chuckle.
Mizuki couldn't help but laugh again seeing them, covering his mouth a little as he did so--though mostly out of embarrassment. He commented with much the same interest, saying things like "Yeah, I agree" and "Oh God, definitely not that one", all the while unable to fight the amused look on his face.
When the selected photos were printed, he carefully took the glossy sheet and looked it over once more, knowing Inui could see it too from where he was standing behind him. "Well...that was kinda fun, I suppose," he admitted, trying once more to sound reserved though his tone had yet to fall back into the refined one he usually carried.
The taller boy leaned in a little closer from where he was standing behind Mizuki, reaching over the other's shoulder to tilt the glossy paper a little so he could see. "You suppose?" Inui chuckled, pointing at one of the pictures where Mizuki was giggling his head off like a schoolgirl. "I think that indicates a 100% yes." he smirked, his tone rather teasing.
"Since we still have some time, lets have a look around in here."
Tucking the photo sheet carefully into the small bag he'd brought (after all, there was nowhere to put his phone and room key/ID on this outfit) Mizuki gave a slight nod, following the other boy out of the booth and into the rush of colors, music, and arcade noises again. They didn't look so out of place here. Though the majority of the arcade players were dressed casually, there were quite a few people milling about in costume, having just come from karaoke or waiting to go to it.
He stood unsure for a moment on where to go, just looking over the colored lights and assorted people, waiting for a hint or nudge in some direction. Any direction.
Turning back over his shoulder, Inui found that Mizuki had just stopped in the middle of the arcade looking kind of blankly at everything. Maybe it just wasn't a place the other would go (of this he was actually quite certain) so he didn't know what to do? Reaching out, Inui tugged him along to a UFO catcher.
"Do you see anything in there you want?" he asked. There was always a trick to these machines, Inui had found. At one point he had been quite fascinated with the inner workings of them and had spent two weeks practically living at the arcade near his house so he could gather data for his own personal interest. (He had heard that it is useful to be able to win things out of them if you ever go on a date, so he acquired this skill rather easily just in case).
Mizuki pressed one hand gently up against the bottom half of the glass, looking over the assortment of colors and cute-faced things (some of which just looked weird). For a moment he was unsure if he really should say anything or not. He'd never been to a place like this, though of course he'd seen these sorts of crane games when he'd go shopping in the city but he'd never felt compelled to look closer at them--and certainly no one had ever offered to win him anything.
He pointed with the hand that was against the pane, "That. In the far back. The..." Opps, he'd almost said 'cute'. Not a good word for someone like him-- "... duck thing."
Blinking, Inui looked up the back of the machine to see a yellow, rather... strange... looking plush ducky-toy. "That one?" he asked, pointing to it and looking to Mizuki after a moment. "I think it's like a yellow platypus.. or something." Rifling through his pocket, Inui found a coin and slipped it in the slot, shuffling side ways a little to the joystick.
It was all a matter of calculation, really. The first time he'd line it up (and most likely miss) to see how loose the metal arms were. Once he knew that, then getting the toy wasn't as hard as everyone thought it was.
Silent, Mizuki watched with something that could've been called amusement if he wasn't trying to hard to cover it up with disinterest. Really, the boy needed to learn that acting like the 14-year-old kid he was, wasn't a crime. A brief flash of happiness lit up his eyes for a moment when the plush was caught in the metal claw, something akin to the look that flittered across his face when he felt he'd accomplished something but tried to hide it.
Even if it was Inui who was operating the crane, Mizuki couldn't help but feel a bit of victory at having something won for him. He'd have to remember to go on dates to places like this with Yuuta--when they weren't going to European-themed cafes, of course. (He still preferred that over anything of this nature...even if it was...fun?)
One more try left after Inui had got the duck-platypus thing out for Mizuki and it was a simple choice as to what he was going to go for. There was a small little casule in amongst the plush toys and that was his target. When he'd got that as well, he ducked down to the prize door and pulled them both out, holding out the.. thing Mizuki had wanted. "Here you go."
Shaking the capsule a little, Inui cracked the ping egg shaped case open and pulled out a hair clip. It was cute. Somehow it was also rather fitting, considering the decoration it were a pair of cherries. "Come here." He said, stepping closer to Mizuki. "This'll look cute with that outfit."
Mizuki took the first prize offered to him and held it with both hands, trying hard to look uninterested, but the small smile on his lips was hard to hide. Talking more to himself (and trying to make excuses for wanting something as useless as a plush) he mumbled, "I like it...because it's kinda ugly. Like..so ugly it's cute." Well, since when had Mizuki had a normal taste in...anything for that matter?
He blinked and looked up though when he felt Inui closer to him, and almost stepped away from the contact, since he generally hated people touching his hair. "Ah... Thank you..." He would've noted that it was fitting because he liked cherries too, but Inui already knew this--or should've at least inferred it from all the cherry flavored candy and scented products he had.
"Well I read somewhere once that one definition of the word 'cute' was 'ugly but interesting'. I'm not quite sure that it is the common context of the word, but I suppose it is fitting for that toy."
Inui was now, well.. face to chest with Mizuki and looking down as the other boy looked up. Holding out the pin, the question that followed was, "Can I put it in? Or do you want to do it?" Well, Mizuki was hanging onto the plush toy and there was no mirror where they were standing, so it was more logical that he put it in, which is why he asked, but if Mizuki said no, he'd just give it to him so he could do it.
Oh, damn. Why'd he have to go and ask for permission? Now Mizuki felt like he had to decline. For some reason, giving Inui permission to touch his hair (which almost no one ever got permission to do, except for Yuuta) was like willingly putting himself in an intimate position. Intimacy = relationship = romance = couple =x= them.
That's how his mind was running at the moment anyway. After a moment of hesitation, he spoke, "I can't see it..you put it in." Oh fucking hell, after his previous train of thought that just sounded so damn wrong.
Ok, ok. Calm down-- intimacy = relationship = friendship = PLATONIC = them. Go away teenage boy mind, with you stupid sexual perversion and your ability to find naughtiness out of context... Why couldn't he have been born a girl. They never thought this way, did they?
After a thoughtful moment of consideration, Inui gently pushed back the strand of hair he had selected and held it in place. For some reason the act that took mere seconds seemed to stretch on for minutes or longer. He was acting normal. He wasn't jumpy, he didn't have those 'physical stutters' he usually had around Fuji or other people where he practically double-takes with his body as opposed to just his head. It was.. strange.
Carefully (and very precisely), he slipped the little metal hair clip into Mizuki's well-styled locks and fixed it there. Setting a few strands over the back part of the clip nicely, Inui pulled back a bit and observed his handiwork. He was right (natrually) it did look cute.
"It suits you." he stated in a matter of fact way before looking at his watch. "Do you want to head back over to the karaoke place now? We can order food and drinks. If we did that, the drinks would be free by the time they came with the food."
Mizuki was praying to God that his face wasn't a red as it was warm and Inui's voice had interrupted that prayer rather quickly, leaving a cold feeling in his stomach that was more than enough to counter the heat on his cheeks. Why had he gotten so uptight about that? See?--It was platonic after all. It hadn't been any big deal.
He almost wanted to sigh in relief, but managed to refrain, giving Inui a brief nod and starting to make his way over to the karaoke place, knowing that Inui could keep up with him very easily, even when Mizuki had a head start. He wondered if he was going to have to keep reminding himself that Inui loved Fuji and this wasn't a whole 'Oshitari-esque disaster' all over again. But...he was narcissistic...so thinking that anyone who got close to him had feelings for him was natural. (Except, oddly, when he liked someone first, the last thing that seemed to register was that they could possibly like him in return. Ex: Yuuta.)
Life kinda sucked that way.
Despite the slight dusting of pink that Mizuki's cheeks seemed to hold for a few moments, Inui didn't really think much of it. Of course the fact that he'd done it without being nervous had made him wonder, but he believed that this was the result of them both having formed that somewhat trusting bond. Maybe it was just that both of them needed someone not to laugh at or insult them and since they'd come to some form of unspoken truce, that it was fine they were this close as friends. It seemed that was likely - at least to Inui.
Indeed the taller boy did catch up easily, it only took two steps and he was beside the other. "So I say that you should be going first, so I can follow your example, hm? After all, you're the one with all the experience in this department." Inui chuckled as they got into the venue, going to get their booth number from the reception person.
Thankful for a distraction that wouldn't cause any more of that boyish perversion (or so he hoped) Mizuki quickly slipped back into his untouchable, confident attitude. "Of course~ I was going to ask if you wanted me to take the first song anyway~Nfu."
He felt even better when they were in their booth, away from the crowd, with the sofa, table (with song listing book) and the karaoke machine. Even if they were alone... But that was okay! Because Inui loved Fuji and he loved Yuuta and Mizuki knew that at least he wouldn't feel tempted to go anywhere with this. The memory of Oshitari though... it made other people's actions hard to judge when in situations such as this-- almost everything friendly felt like some sort of innuendo and it made him more and more uptight.
Crap, where had his short lived moment of relaxation gone? He was still confident feeling but there was that underlying tension he'd always felt around Oshitari--that feeling of constantly having to be on guard in order to cause distance if things felt too friendly. Maybe he was just bad at having friends and having a lover at the same time? (Not that he'd ever had them both simultaneously before now... but still.)
"Yes well, as I said before. Beauty before brains. Naturally you'd be going first." The statement was true, but it didn't stop him from teasing. He was a rather lighthearted person when he allowed himself to be, or when he could bring himself to be. He doubted he could be called 'flirty' at all, because if he ever actually tried to flirt with someone, they would probably think he was a creepy pedophile - so he stayed away from that (also because he really had no desire to flirt with anyone, really and if he did, he was too tongue tied to do it).
Sitting down in the booth, leaning back against the nice sofa, Inui flipped through the menu while Mizuki picked out a song. "What do you want to order? We missed dinner so eating here would be a good option, since we're not paying for drinks." Inui's eyes averted from the menu only momentarily to gesture at Mizuki with it, before going back to perusing it.
"Come over here and have a look." There was only one menu, so they'd have to share it.
Maaan... Was that flirting or was Mizuki just too caught up in that tension that he was becoming paranoid? He really hoped it was the second option, because he had no idea how to handle flirting other than flat out rejection, which, coming from him, was usually rather cruel.
"Ah, I'm not very hungry," he lied with a dismissive wave of his hand, eyes stubbornly focused on the song listings, "I'll just eat whatever you don't want." Which was a very rare thing for him to do. Eating someone else's leftovers? How crude. But he didn't want to sit any closer than they were and he certainly didn't want to eat with this tight feeling in his stomach.
Okay, that was unusual. Inui raised a brow, making a noise of consideration that dictated his confusion as to the response he'd got. Mizuki was picky. Very picky. Having been his roommate, Inui understood just how picky this boy was. Normally he wouldn't touch anything that wasn't his own, or made especially for him.
"Are you okay, Mizuki?"
"Hm? Oh, yeah. I'm fine...why?" Mizuki had torn his eyes away from the long list of song titles for the moment it took to respond, but his eyes were pulled back down almost immediately afterwards, as if the collection of names really was that interesting.
At least, he hoped that's what it looked like, if one ignored how tightly he was gripping the binder.
"You don't sound fine. You don't look it, either." Inui wasn't stupid, nor was he unobservant. Something was definitely bothering the other boy. Maybe it was something he'd said or done? Though Inui had asked permission to touch him.. so it wasn't that... what could he have said that could have upset the other?
Setting the menu down, Inui leaned back against the sofa a little more. "Did I say or do something to upset you?"
"No," Mizuki almost winced and kicked himself mentally for answering so quickly. Usually he didn't make such obvious mistakes when lying. There was nothing casual at all about answering immediately, not to mention is tone was rather forced, wasn't it?
Fuck. That's all he could think, even as he tried to collect his crumbling lie. "I'm just a bit stressed still, I suppose." Please believe that. He had no idea how to go about explaining his current mental state.
Well Mizuki hadn't been stressed earlier. What had changed? Was there a change in their circumstances that Inui hadn't been aware of? Of course it was only obvious that Inui couldn't read Mizuki's mind, but there was nothing that he could see that he'd overtly done to change that - not to mention, Mizuki just confirmed it, even if his tone was a little... rushed?
Getting up, Inui went over to where Mizuki was and sat beside him. "What's stressing you out, then?" he offered.
He tried not to, really, but...his body just wouldn't listen. Mizuki moved further down the sofa, away from Inui, even as his mind scolded him for being so stupid and so damn obvious. Somehow, his mind just couldn't let go of the lie that was already clearly a lie. "I'm still thinking about that thing earlier." What thing again? He honestly couldn't remember just then. "So, I'm just...stressed."
Oh, wow, way to be articulate, Hajime. He silently wished God would kill him just then to save him the embarrassement of being caught in such a painfully bad lie.
Ah. Well. It was like that, then? The lie was obvious. Mizuki was an exceptional liar, Inui had come to know this, so this was unusual for the other. Something really had him on edge for it to be this bad. Inui concluded that it was himself that was the problem, judging from Mizuki's movements.
"I can get you a cab back to the dorm if you don't want to be here, Mizuki." Inui said softly, that strange kind of calm to his tone that there usually was when the larger boy started to try and detach himself from his own life and whatever he happened to be feeling at the time.
"I'm not forcing you to stay here with me, after all." Yes, Inui would get him a cab, walking around by himself in that outfit wasn't a good idea at all.
Mizuki was tense but he managed to shake his head, determined to get the point across. "It's not you," he forced out, quickly abandoning himself to anger because it felt safer than this uncertain tension, it was familiar and in character (at least how he assumed others saw him). "If I hadn't wanted to come, I would've declined! Do you think I would put up with someone just to make them feel good? I'm not that nice."
Oh dear, if this continued, they might crumble again. A pang of regret stuck in his chest at that thought. It was...unhappy....the idea of going back to the way things were. What the hell was he doing?
There it was and Inui would be lying if he said it hadn't made him wince. Though what was Mizuki lashing out at him for? He'd done nothing this time. He hadn't provoked him and Mizuki hadn't said anything to make him angry, so why was he acting this way when everything before then had been fine?
Despite his urge to just back right up and leave, Inui didn't. The way Mizuki was acting had piqued his concern (moreso than it ever normally would have). "I know you're not that nice. Of all people, I really, really know that, Mizuki." Inui murmured, reaching to put his hands on Mizuki's shoulders gently, turning the other boy towards him just a little, brows furrowed.
"..and you know I can be easily irritated and definitely not nice either." he added, ducking his head a little so he was looking the other in the face. "Every other time you've lashed out at me it's been warranted in some fashion, but... I don't understand right now. What's happened to make you so upset? I know that you're lying to me and you know I know that... so just tell me. It's not like we haven't seen one another like this before.."
Mizuki felt trapped, and he probably looked like it too. He was backed against a wall, figuratively, and everything he'd been trying to control and keep ahold of had been torn out of his hands. No...no he wouldn't.. He wouldn't cry in front of someone. He didn't cry.
Mizuki Hajime never cried. Ever. No. He didn't even have tears.
...That's what he wanted to be true, more than anything in the world. Mizuki sobbed before the water even left his eyes. "........." When had things gotten so out of control? More importantly, when had he started feeling so uptight, stressed, and...afraid? ".....I love Yuuta-kun, you know," he whispered, though who the hell he was reassuring was questionable.
"I know that." Inui said softly, reaching to wipe the tears away from Mizuki's eyes. "Why would I think you don't?" he asked, head tilting to the side a little. Inui had no idea what was going on, but things like this he knew were unpredictable, and so all he could do was try and get Mizuki to tell him what was wrong and why by simply asking questions of the information (what little there was) the other gave him.
Mizuki felt like a fool. A complete and total fool. It took a moment for him to bite his bottom lip and force his tears to stop. Oh, how strange...it was semi-successful. Wiping at a few stray droplets with his left hand, he clutched the fabric of the dress tightly with his other hand.
"A..and you love Fuji-kun." Was he making sense? He was trying...
Inui blinked, trying to process that. "Well I'm trying to, yes." Inui replied, he'd even admitted to Fuji that he couldn't claim that he 'loved' him when he didn't particularly know how to yet, but that he would try his very best. "Fuji and I are complicated, but yes, I have decided to be with him." he affirmed. What did this have to do with Mizuki being upset? Inui ran through the possibilities in his mind.
"You're with Yuuta. I'm with Fuji. Is.. there a problem with that.. or is it something else?" he asked then, not quite wanting to try and put two and two together in this situation because that could go very wrong, very quickly.
Yes, there was something wrong with that. What was it? It was bothering him, making him tense and stressed and it had come out of nowhere. But what was it? He was hesitant to say anything but staying silent wasn't helping either of them understand the real problem, was it?
Ok, this question was going to either come out really awkward or really awful. Either way he'd lose, so he might as well... "You...don't feel for me then, do you?" Mizuki had stopped crying by this point, but he was fragile, trying to recollect his defenses, and he really didn't want an answer. Really.
"You mean, do I like you in the way I like Fuji?" Inui asked, again, needing a moment to process that thought. Like him, or was attracted to him? Those were two different things and now Inui was well and truly trying to figure out which one that Mizuki was talking about. "Or are you asking if I'm attracted to you?"
Yes, two different questions, both had a different answer. It was that simple, really.
There was a difference? Mizuki was confused now, his mind able to ignore the fear for a moment in favor of solving what was making him confused. "...It's the same, isn't it?"
"Is it?" Inui asked. It wasn't for him. "It's not for me. At least, I seperate attraction and actual feelings for people quite an extensive amount." The dataman explained. "I don't like you more than a friend, but that doesn't mean I'm not attracted to you. I like boys, that part of me won't change. The fact that you're attractive won't change, either." Well, Inui knew that Mizuki had a preoccupation with his own appearance.. after that mirror incident anyway, it's not like saying something like that to Mizuki would garner a negative response.
Inui needed to break down his feelings to the lowest common denominator. He couldn't just have 'like and attraction' lumped together. It would only serve to confuse the shit out of him when he tried to sort out his own feelings. So, this is the way he'd come up with for knowing exactly what it was he felt for someone. "Are you worried about me trying to do something to you?" he then asked, sounding almost surprised that the question had come out of his mouth.. however legitimate it seemed to be in this case.
"...Oh," Mizuki felt it come out before he could even register he'd said anything. Well, that was intelligent. "It's just that..." Well, this was awkward, but he'd expected it to be, so there was no sense in delaying the conversation. "Oshitari-kun... was attracted to me, and there was always innuendo hidden in everything...I couldn't do anything without thinking about what I might accidentally agree to."
He sighed, looking to the side so as to avoid eye contact even further. "....I caught some of that, I think, in something you said...so I got uptight. I suppose I still am..." He was insecure...wasn't he? How awful was that? Mizuki Hajime, the biggest fuckin' joke-- a narcissist and extremely arrogant elitist 99% of the time...and he was letting someone see his very rare insecurities.
Not fair. He almost felt crazy enough to ask Inui to pay him to have seen such a protected side of himself.
"Ah, well then it's understandable." Inui nodded and sat back against the sofa a little. "No, I wasn't making any insinuations. I generally try to avoid flirting, I don't find I am particularly skilled at it. It takes a level of.. finesse... that I don't possess." he admitted with a slight tinge of pink to his cheeks, hand coming up to run through his hair before putting the top hat back on.
"You don't have to worry about that, all right?"
This time a unrestrained sigh left his lips and his shoulders relaxed noticeably. "...Sorry," he mumbled, one hand coming to curl his hair but brushing across the cherry hairclip and stopping instantly. Something was still bothering him. Why didn't he feel satisfied?
"I think I should go," he whispered, hand tracing the hairclip gently before falling back to his side, the urge to twirl his hair forgotten. "I've made things too tense now, haven't I?"
"Not particularly." The reply came easily from him with a little shrug. This was something that Inui well and truly understood. The back and forths and the thinking too much to be healthy for one's own brain because past experiences dictated how one felt about future ones. He knew this. A little too well. That's why as soon as Mizuki had mentioned that it was the past with Oshitari dictating the way he was reacting, Inui had relaxed again. It wasn't anything he could do anything about and nor was it him directly.
"This is another one of those things that I understand." Inui said with another nod. "Besides, what am I going to do here by myself?" he asked, reaching over to fix up Mizuki's hair clip just a bit. "It's not going to be any fun by myself and you need to relax as much as I do... plus, I think that it's good that we can be this way, you know?" There was another affirming nod.
"No one else knows this much about either of us, we both have insecurities.. we both understand certain things about over-thinking or past experiences dictating future judgement. Isn't it better that we hang out with one another instead of risk opening that up to anyone bar our significant others?"
Mizuki nodded quietly, loving how easily understood he was. He hadn't really even had to explain himself in much detail either. It was true too-- no one else knew him like this, or at least not this much of him. Just Yuuta, just Inui. It was nice, having another person to go to in case he was too afraid of rejection to go to Yuuta...like now.
That's why they were friends, wasn't it? They both had things they were too afraid to say to the ones they loved, so they said it to each other. They opened up and confided, and generally felt better afterwards--even if it was only slightly. "...Thank you," it came out as barely a whisper, but at least he was smiling again.
"I feel foolish for reacting like...well...like a woman, but you already understand, don't you?"
Inui chuckled softly, squeezing Mizuki's shoulder gently as he nodded again. Though, like a true teenage boy, as he went to speak, his stomach instead decided to be the one to make noise. Now that right there, that was rather embarrassing.
Clearing his throat, Inui looked at the menu and then to Mizuki. "Let's order something now, hm? Before my stomach starts trying to eat itself." Getting up, he went over and got the menu. "They have a decent selection." he commented off handedly as he came and sat back down next to Mizuki, holding the menu between them both so they could see it.
Mizuki was still slightly uncomfortable, but he'd get over it. Hopefully. He looked over the food items on the menu and managed to pick out something that sounded appetizing enough, before returning back to the list of songs. Of course, being the person he was, he expected Inui to take care of the orders after he'd told him his selection.
There was a lot still running through his mind but he was completely reluctant to even acknowledge it right now, much less try to sort it out.
Picking up the phone after Mizuki had told him what he wanted, Inui ordered their food and their drinks and hung up. Hopefully the other would calm down about the thought of Inui wanting to hit on him. Inui didn't really know if he had hit on Mizuki or not.. or would ever have even particularly (and by this he meant consciously) try to do it. Yes, he was attractive, but did that mean that Inui was meant to try? He had Fuji and MIzuki had Yuuta. That was the end of it. Didn't that dictate what was appropriate and what wasn't?
He mulled it over in his head as he sat down and waited for Mizuki to go up and start his song, watching attentively (as one was supposed to do at Karaoke, he'd heard).
...that and it was just too good to take his eyes off. Mizuki + dress + karaoke = ii data (or at least it was something fun to do).
The selection of songs was really a lot broader than the karaoke places in Yamagata, but he supposed there was a reason for that--this place seemed newer and more up to date. A lot of the songs were fairly recent too. Though Mizuki was sorely tempted to pick something angry or at least a little on the unhappy side thanks to his mood (which was slowly improving, at least) he decided that he'd come here to forget and be happier--so there was no point in making himself feel worse.
Selecting a song that he knew well (Tokyo Jihen--one of the few he rarely admitted to listening to, along with Jpop/Rock in general), the music started, rather upbeat for how he was feeling but it only took a line or two before he got over that.
Wow, it had been a while, hadn't it? Mizuki had almost forgotten why his father and sisters drug him to karaoke so often. Quite simply, it was fun. Oh, and he was a rather good singer, which is why he enjoyed those times all the more. Much like the mirror-kissing incident, Mizuki had seemed to completely forget Inui was in the room (and watching no less), caught up in the song as much as he was caught up in himself.
Tokyo Jihen? Mizuki knew who Tokyo Jihen were? Inui blinked a few times. Well that there was a surprise. Inui hadn't figured him for the type to listen to it, really. Though if he was, he totally had a request for the next song Mizuki would sing.
Waiting out the song, Inui clapped with a chuckle at the end, smiling at Mizuki. "I never pegged you as a Jihen fan. That's pretty niche, you know." he said, though it was all entirely appreciation. Mizuki had sounded awesome.
Mizuki couldn't help but color at little at the mention of his (albeit secret) love for the band, though the praise served to level him out with yet another ego boost. He seemed to be getting those more when he was on good terms with people--funny that. "My sisters got me into it," he admitted a bit dismissively, as if it wasn't something he'd been hiding.
"Do me a request next song?" he asked, before nodding. Inui picked up the song list and flipped through it, already knowing which song he'd try out first. It was one he knew backwards and could sing rather well (even if his singing experience had been limited to in the shower, when he didn't realise he was singing and trying to program Byte's latest feature - a vocaloid).
Choosing his song, Inui got up as the familiar rock music started up. Yes, that was Abingdon Boy's School - no, it wasn't particularly JRock perse, but Inui quite liked some of their lesser known songs. It was better than starting out with MUCC or one of the Taiwanese songs he knew (mainly because he'd also be rapping in two languages in those). Everyone needed a warm up song. DOWN TO YOU was the perfect one, he believed (he'd just wished they'd had Finger Eleven's Paralyzer on the song list, really he did).
"Ok.." Mizuki agreed, a bit thrown off by the request, but he supposed it was another compliment in a different form, so that was all well and good. He sat back into the cushions, fixing the folds of his dress as Inui's song began.
Hm, so they'd surprised each other--Mizuki definitely hadn't expected that. In fact, he hadn't been very sure at all of what Inui would pick, but he wasn't a bad singer at all. Amused, Mizuki watched the taller boy sing, one hand absently toying with the lace at the hem of his dress. "Interesting," he commented with a slight smirk, though he comment was far from an insult of any kind.
Inui chuckled. "The next few will be a little more.. interesting." he replied as he handed the mic to Mizuki and flipped open the book to the song he wanted the other to sing. "Shiina Ringo." His finger slid down the list of her songs and then stopped at Honnou. He loved this song, he really did. Somehow it was just... so... sexy. Since Mizuki liked Jihan, he knew there was a very likely chance that he knew Shiina Ringo.
Wait, what? Sexy? ...sexy + Mizuki? Ah.. wait, what? No. That wasn't right.
Shaking off that thought, the dataman smirked at the other boy. "You think you could sing it?"
"Hm?" Mizuki sat up a little straighter to see exactly what Inui was pointing at. "Honnou...?" He frowned a bit in consideraton, looking over Inui as if he was having a wavering of trust again--
Until he smirked and held the mic a little firmer. "I should've worn a nurse outfit then," he teased before standing and selecting the song. Ah, he loved this song even more secretly than he loved Tokyo Jihen.
It was sexy. There really was no other word for it. Shiina Ringo was sexy. He'd never admit it (though his sister would be the first to tell you) he'd even had a short lived crush on her for a while a few years ago. ...What? He was a teenage boy, he was allowed to have crushes on singers!
His voice wasn't quite as high as hers, but luckily there were enough low parts in the song for it to sound natural, and even at the higher marks, his voice remained smooth--and little gruff in the parts that called for sexiness--and overall more passionate than his previous song. What could he say? Mizuki had the habit of getting into himself a little too much.
So the first jolt to his system was Mizuki teasing him about wearing a nurse's outfit. Yes, for some reason he did like the idea of that... a lot. So maybe he had just a tiny fetish for it. Well not really a fetish (even though technically it was a fetish), more like... oh fuck who was he kidding, yes it was a fetish.
Though it didn't matter, the way Mizuki was singing that song and the way he moved just completely blew every synapse in his brain. Teenage boys and hormones were... not a good combination in enclosed spaces with sexy music. Alright, so Inui had asked for that one. In his defense he would say that he hadn't expected Mizuki to get so into it, but damn.. it was good to watch.
By the end of the song, Inui could swear his blood didn't know which way to rush, to his head or well... to the other head. "You... do that a little too well..." was the only thing he seemed to be able to get out.
