Oishi looked around the first floor of the Evergreen dorms. It wasn't that he hadn't seen it, but he really hadn't walked around my down there, considering he lived on the second story.

1C... 1C.... There!

Holding onto the handle of his first aid kit, Oishi knocked on the door he assumed was Oshitari's, hoping the other was inside. Maybe he should have tried to contact him first before coming over? ... But that wouldn't work because it wasn't like he had the other boy's phone number or anything. Oishi pushed the worry out of his head and waiting for someone to answer the door.

Oshitari moaned slightly, he still had horrible aches and felt rather shitty. He was still covered in bruises and scabs of all kinds from his fight with his father. He was currently laying on his bed enjoying a read of his favorite Jane Austen book to try and make him feel slightly better. It wasn't helping. He sighed and rolled over when he heard a knock on his door. Slightly surprised by the noise he flinched but headed over to answer it. On the other side he saw an unfamiliar face, "Um...Hi...?"

"Uh, hi. I'm Oishi from the second floor. You wouldn't happen to be Oshitari-kun, would you?" Oishi hadn't really counted on the awkwardness that came with meeting people for the first time, since he'd already spoken to the other via the internet. Belatedly, he realised that neither of them had even seen what the other looked like really. Oh well, too late now.

"I've brought some first aid supplies."

"Ah! Oishi, with the sister in primary school, forgive me my rudeness. I see the resemblence to your picture now. I'm a bit drained," Oshitari invited the boy in offered him a seat on his bed, "Perfect! I have a few of my own and have done some of my own work on the cuts and bruises, but it's hard to reach some of the spots, you know?"

Oishi sat down where Oshitari had indicated, narrowly avoiding sitting on a novel resting spine-up on the bed. "'Pride and Prejudice'," he read aloud as he moved the book to a safer location," I liked that one best out of the Jane Austens that I've read, though I haven't read through all of them."

Oishi set the three-tiered box he'd been holding on the floor, lifting the latch to flip the lid and get out all the supplies he'd need for cuts and bruises.

Oshitari smiled, "I've probably read it a hundred times. It's certainly my favorite of all her novels, and I have read them all. Sense and Sensibility is slightly enjoyable too." Oshitari watched as Oishi fiddled around with probably the HUGEST personal first aid kit he had ever seen and allowed the other boy to go to work.

"I liked Sense and Sensibility, but I think I liked Emma better. It was longer and had some slow parts, but I was more interested in the story," Oishi finished getting out a soft towel and some disinfectant, as well as several sized bandages and some arnica lotion for the bruises.

"Now, can you show me where you're hurt the most and also especially what you can't reach yourself?

Oshitari frowned. Emma was certainly not his favorite, though he liked to play matchmaker rather like Emma. He decided instead to ask, "What other literature do you enjoy? And, ah. Yes, it's mostly my back that's killing me but I could probably use some help with the cut on my lip." Without any kind of hesitation Oshitari removed his shirt.

Oishi blinked at his now-shirtless host, surprised at how easily the other boy could take off his clothes when they barely knew each other. He collected himself and motioned for Oshitari to sit with his back facing him on the bed. "Well, I've had to read a few English novels for school, but I'm afraid that I don't really read much of what I'd call literature... Oh!"

Oishi was startled at the amount of damage, but after the initial, cursory glance he saw that the cuts weren't terribly deep, though the bruising was pretty bad. He took up the disinfectant and cloth, spraying the cuts, then wiping away the dried blood that had collected before spraying again. Once he'd finished dressing the scratches, Oishi grabbed the arnica tube and began to massage the gel into the bruises around Oshitari's shoulders, carefully avoiding any of the scratches.

"How did this happen, if you don't mind my asking?" Oishi couldn't help feeling a bit worried.

Oshitari sat crosslegged facing the wall of his dorm room, he nodded, "Yeah, reading for school is boring though. I prefer to read the novels on my own, and of course I do some non-literature reading as well. What's your favorite book?" Oshitari was not surprised by how startled Oishi was at seeing his back. He may have a fairly good body, but at the moment it certainly was not in good condition. Oshitari had seen the damage from a mirror and that was why he thought for sure he needed some extra help cleaning the cuts. He frowned at the other's question. He had hoped that Oishi would not be curious. The damage was too bad for his lie to be believable, but he hoped the other boy would not prod, "I fell down the stairs on our backporch."
Oishi glanced up at his answer, though Oshitari couldn't see him. It was pretty obvious that stairs weren't going to do damage like this. The bruises weren't linear at all. It honestly looked a lot more like someone had been pounding on his back with fists or a blunt object...

Oishi sighed a little. If Oshitari didn't want to talk about it, that was his choice and it wasn't really Oishi's business in the first place. "I don't know if I have a favourite book. I like reading non-fiction most of the time, I think."

"Non-fiction is a lot of fun to read," Oshitari replied cheering up a bit, but felt of pain going through him with every one of the other boy's touches and found himself constantly flinching. It hurt but he knew it would be better for him when it finished. He doubted Oishi believed his answer, but didn't want the other boy to get involved in something that would only upset him. Besides, Oshitari hardly knew him.

Oishi could feel the other tense because of the rubbing on the sensitive bruises and murmured his apologies for the pain. There were so many that sleeping must have been quite difficult. The gel should make it better, even if it hurt right now.

As Oishi massaged, he couldn't help but wonder exactly how he'd gotten so injured. Unless his guess was completely off, Oshitari had probably been beat up... and badly.

"I read a lot of my dad's medical textbooks. They're pretty interesting, if you like that sort of thing. Luckily, I've read up a bit on practical first aid..." Oishi steeled himself to ask, knowing that it wasn't his place, but also knowing that sometimes talking helped with healing, too.

"It seems to me that these injuries aren't like those you typically see with falls down stairs."

Oshitari winced a bit, for him non-fiction meant reading history texts more than science. Not to say he wasn't any good at science, because he was absolutely wonderful - Oshitari was a genius after all. Still, it wasn't his favorite thing to do, merely necessary knowledge to acquire. And, he had apparently picked the wrong person to lie to. Oishi was knowledgable enough to clearly see thru his lie. However, Oshitari was no simpleton. And he thought awhile before saying something that would make the other boy think he had been in a physical fight rather than physical abuse, and might actually lead to getting Fuji - who he so hoped would agree to get help, to seek help out. Oshitari on the other hand, did seek out help, so it was more the bothersome injuries that bothered him. He fought his father chivalrously - with words rather than with fists. And some day, he intended to knock his father to the ground in such a way. In the mean time, he'd deal with the cuts, scrapes, and bruises, finally he replied, "I got my injuries in the same way Fuji Syuusuke got his. You can ask him for details if you'd like. I'd be pleased to hear his story."

Oishi paused again, partially because he was finished with the arnica and partially because he was a little confused by Oshitari's purposefully obtuse statement. He'd heard this Fuji person mentioned in passing, but knew little about him.

"Did you two get into a fight with each other?" Oishi wondered briefly if the other boy might need some first aid help as well.

But now Oshitari was playing a game, his glasses had been broken during his beatings and so his proverbial gloves were off, "Ask him. Honest, I'd like to hear what he'd say. I wouldn't want our stories to differ."

Oishi didn't like the idea of fighting that caused bruising this bad. Hopefully Oshitari had been the loser, because if this Fuji had worse bruises and cuts, he'd definitely need some medical attention of his own.

"Well, if I ever meet him, I'll be sure to ask, then," Oishi tapped the other's shoulder," Would you mind turning around so I can take a look at your lip? I'm done with your back now."

"You should meet him, I'm quite sure he could use first aid, though I doubt he'd let you give it to him. I'll tell him that I recommend you," Oshitari replied and obeyed the other's order turning around and pouting his lip so that the boy could have a full chance at cleaning the cut.

Oishi took a single-use, sanitizing packet from his first aid kit and gently, but firmly grabbed Oshitari's chin to hold it steady while he dabbed the obviously painful wound.

From the way the other boy was referring to Fuji, Oishi had to assume that they weren't enemies, even if they had been in a fight. Maybe Oishi was wrong about the fight in the first place. He resisted the urge to shake his head. Whatever had happened, Oshitari obviously didn't want to talk too much about it.

"Thank you, but I'm really not all that great. I'm sure there are people here that have more medical training," Oishi put the used sanitizing wipe back in the chest and grabbed a bandaid package, still holding Oshitari stationary with his other hand.

Oshitari waited until the boy paused, not wanting to mess up the healing of his lip and nodded, "Oh there's the infirmary but I wouldn't trust them as much as an eager medical student like yourself. I think once people get out of school they become rather cocky and stop being useful."

Smiling a little ruefully, Oishi replied, "I'm not quite a medical student yet. I should probably get through regular schooling first."

He peeled open the package and started aligning the small strips, used for longer cuts, along the run of the bottom of the split.

"There's not much I can do for the lip because bandages won't stick properly. I recommend using chapstick, the gel kind if you have it, though if your lips get dry. Chances are it'll be uncomfortable for a little while, but mouth injuries tend to heal pretty fast."

"You don't know how to take a compliment do you?" Oshitari asked patting Oishi on the shoulder, "obviously you aren't a med student. We're only 15, but, you'd make a good doctor. And thanks. That'll help with my mouth I guess. I find it particularly annoying when I eat is all. And when I make out of course."

Oishi started slightly at the abrupt change in topic. He couldn't quite tell if Oshitari was being serious or not, but figured he should warn him anyway," I wouldn't really recommend making out with a split lip, regardless. It could get easily infected, which wouldn't be good for you or... well, your partner."

Oishi hoped that the slight blush he could feel in his cheeks wasn't really noticeable. He wasn't really used to talking about that kind of thing...

"My partner and I would probably rather take the risk of infection than keeping our hands off eachother," Oshitari replied smiling. Which wasn't entirely true - Mizuki wasn't grabby, but he had kissed his scab and all that...

Now Oishi could really feel his cheeks heating up. For someone so unwilling to talk about how he'd gotten hurt, Oshitari apparently had no qualms about talking about his love life.

"I-I should probably be going," he couldn't think of a very good reason to leave, besides that he was embarrassed. Oishi quickly packed up his first aid supplies and walked to the door.

"It was nice meeting you, Oshitari-kun. And take care of yourself."

Oshitari watched rather amused as the other boy bolted out.
