Character name: Yumiko Fuji

appearance: Yumiko looks rather similar to her canon self, and is still quite a beauty for a busy lady in her mid-late 30's. She *does* show age lines next to her lips, and her body is somewhat chubbier than before, but she takes it on the stride and while taking care of her looks, she tries to not fall into vanity. She occasionally dyes her hair darker, looking slightly like an older version of the homunculi Juliet Douglas/Sloth from Fullmetal Alchemist.
position: Admin from the legal department. She's more exactly a paralegal, in charge of making research and supporting anyone in the Agency who needs advice related to the Japanese laws.
history: Ever since she was a teenager, Yumiko Fuji put polite but firm limits to both family and boyfriends. She always made sure to tell them that she wouldn't be a trophy wife/daughter/sister, and those who couldn't handle her wish to have her dream (to have a good family life *and* a succesful career) fulfilled shouldn't bother with her.
While the parents and her younger brothers came to understand and accept, the boyfriends took lots of time. Every guy who tried to make Yumiko give up on her career as a promising lawyer was kicked out promptly off her radar. But when she was working as an intern in the legal department of the Agency, she finally found the love of her life: Ishiwatari Hayate, a prestigious field agent. He practically swore to her that he'd never make her choose between work and family, and under those conditions, she accepted his marriage proposal.
After they got married, Yumiko soon found out she was pregnant; their daughter Nadeshiko (now seven years old), was born within the second year of their marriage. Both Hayate and Yumiko made quite the effort to make sure the little girl was their main worry, without losing focus of their careers; Yoshiko, Yumiko's mother, was a key part in this, taking care of Nadeshiko whenever she could. Things were going relatively fine, with the normal ups and downs of almost any relationship...
Until the day, two years ago, when Hayate was shot to death during mission. Ironically, the last one he was going to take before retiring from active missions and becoming an agent trainer, so he could enjoy a better home life with Yumiko and Nadeshiko.
Yumiko took her husband's death hard, but decided to not break down, so after a year and a half of mourning and helping her parents-in-law to get all of Hayate's bussinesses taken care of, she re-took her job. Lots of people criticized her, accusing Yumiko of not caring enough for her daughter; she replied by personally taking Nadeshiko every day to her kindergarten and later elementary school (both located not too far from the Agency) and also taking her back home whenever she could.
Yumiko has also done her best to keep some degree of contact with her brothers, Yuuta and Syuusuke; it's not a strong and ultra personal bond as she'd like, but she always tries to let them know that she'll always be there for them, like the older sister she is and will always be...

Oh, God. That reunion took several hours, and Yumiko was pissed off at herself for not being able to predict that fact. Not because she was wearing heels and her feet hurt like mad, not because she was just about to drop dead of fatigue, and not exactly because of all the legal papers stashed in the folder she has just placed on her dinner table...
Yumiko had not been able to take Nadeshiko home for the second time in the week, and that made her feel horribly guilty.
After dropping her bag next to the folder and changing her shoes, Yumiko went towards her daughter's bedroom. And there she was, sleeping in her bed peacefully and hugging her favorite teddy bear.
"Sorry for today, honey...," she murmured a little sadly, leaning over Nadeshiko to kiss her on the cheek. The girl stirred in her sleep and didn't wake up, so Yumiko was able to stand up and go to her own room quietly, making a mental note on how she could make up for not being home today.
