Pain
Last night, I dropped a mostly-full shampoo bottle just above my foot. Immediately, the tissue turned deep purple and within a few minutes looked both bruise and wound. However, I didn't seem to have punctured my flesh -- just hit it very, very hard.
When I woke up today, the area felt incredibly tight, like someone is pulling my flesh taut past the point of comfort. Walking is a bit painful now. My aversion to medicine runs deep; I never even take aspirin when I have a small pain. I just sit and wait it out, or maybe have some wine to "treat" the pain. But now I think that I should get a pain killer. Too bad the only pharmacy in downtown St. Louis closed on September 15!
