i think we all know where this will end...
So I finally asked my daddy to buy me got a new router 'cause the old one was starting to make me crazy in the brainpan. Seriously, it let me remote desktop onto my lab computer just fine (most of the time) but I had to hit the refresh button, like, eight times to check the weather. These past couple of weeks, it's gotten so bad, I was actually remote-desktop-ing onto my lab computer just so I could use the browser on my lab computer to surf the interwebz.
And, dude, that was totally risky business! What if I were in the middle of twitter-stalking the Leverage cast and crew or reading Leverage fanfic or watching Leverage fanvids on youtube and somebody at lab logged into the lab computer and saw my browser tabs? DISASTER.
Um. So yeah. New router. New router meant new network SSID... (wait for it)
...I named the network "Atlantis." E-mailed my roommates and told them the new network name and encryption key. Then the roommate I actually see on an almost-daily basis got home and asked how "Atlantis" was related to Leverage. Then didn't believe me when I said, no, in fact, I chose a network SSID that had nothing to do with Leverage. Then spent a further fifteen minutes speculating what I should have called the network. The conversation went something like this:
RM: You really didn't name it anything to do with Leverage? Really?
ME: I mean, I thought about it...
RM: Aren't you missing Nate and Sophie?
ME: No, I couldn't name the router a character name. It's the network; that'd be weird.
RM: I guess you could've called it "the comms" or something.
ME: Meh. That's not really a name. It's more like Luc--AAAUUGH, darnit, I should've named it "Lucille"!
RM: ...
ME: No, I already named it Atlantis. I like Atlantis. I'm not changing it.
RM: ...
ME: Why did you do this to me? Why?!
RM: Okay, well, just e-mail us if you change it.
That was yesterday. Today, my other roommate came home and was like, "What's up with Atlantis? That doesn't have anything to do with Leverage." And I was like, "Well, no, but it's a network, not a character, and I couldn't think of a good na--" And my roommate was like, "Lucille. Duh. You should rename it." And I was like, "Okay!"
