Title: Easily Broken
Pairing: Lucius/Draco, Blaise/Draco (both very mild)
Disclaimer: I can only wish that all of these characters were mine so I could make them do things to each other all day long.

Summary: Draco is easily broken, and Lucius is always there to help.
Draco looked tough to others, what with always boasting about his father and his family name and fortune, but Lucius knew much too well that his son was easily broken, much too easily broken.
Maybe it was because he and Narcissa had always been there for him. Whenever he wanted something, no matter what, Lucius and Narcissa had always done their best to appease him, to calm their son and make them happy. Maybe their spoiling of him was what had weakened Draco.
He was a bright boy and sensitive to the world around him, and he knew and saw things most others never see. Draco was by no means stupid or careless, but he was easily hurt in some places, and though his pride would never allow him to show it, Lucius knew.
Before Hogwarts, Draco always ran to him whenever he needed someone. Lucius would pat his shoulder roughly and make a show of making whatever it was better, and Draco would laugh before disappearing again, and Lucius liked knowing that he had absolute control over at least something.
But then, Hogwarts arrived, and Lucius prepared his son the best he could, knowing that Draco had to fend for himself from the rest of the world, who disapproved of him because of his name and lineage. Draco's letters were always proud, perhaps a bit whiny, but never not full of pride, and Lucius felt reassured.
He saw much less of Draco as he grew up and much more of Blaise Zabini when he did see Draco. Once, he looked out the window of his study and saw Blaise pinning his son against a tree, lips brutallyviciouslybutsoftlygently attacking his son's, and Lucius wondered vaguely whether Blaise protected Draco the way he once had. He wondered whether Blaise ever ran fingers down silky smooth skin, wondered whether Draco arched his back when Blaise entered him, wondered...
He talked with Blaise once, and an unspoken understanding passed between them. They both knew Draco's nature, and they both knew what to expect from the other. It was an unspoken agreement, but Lucius let go of Draco and let Blaise protect his son. He let Blaise take his place of mending Draco when he was broken.
