in which I continue to not understand things :\
Had a lovely holiday last week and will try to post photos & catch up on everyone's posts in a timely manner, but knowing me...that won't happen. -___-
Posting now really only to pose a few questions, as I've only recently realized that I never knew the answers to them.... ngl, the stuff I ask always makes me feel really removed from everyone else because these things all seem self-evident to the great majority of people, whilst I never get them. :\
1. What is the appeal of alcohol? Almost any kind of alcohol I drink, the overwhelming taste to me is that of the alcohol. When I went to my former landlady's wedding, I got wedding favours of, iirc, blackberry gin & strawberry vodka, or some similar sort of fruit+hard liquor. I couldn't taste the fruit at all when I tried them, yet A. could taste only the fruit. O_O Basically, alcohol does nothing for me, and I don't understand the appeal of getting drunk to forget or get through a bad day or whatever.
2. Why are ponies so great? i.e., why do kids all seem to want one?
3. Why are people so into space? Like space exploration, fiction set in space, etc. idk, I think there's enough going on on Earth to make for interesting exploration and stories.
4. Why is the phrase 'the best thing since sliced bread'? I don't see how sliced bread has affected my life in any beneficial way. (Plus ngl sliced bread is probably the not-so-great processed kind anyway.)
