[pimp] bookmooch
Hay flist, I want to pimp BookMooch to the readers amongst you! :> I was introduced to it by kyuuketsukirui, and I've really enjoyed it so far.
Premise: You list books you own that you no longer want on the site, other people "mooch" them from you, and you send them to those people, in the process gaining points you use to mooch off other people on the site. All it costs you is the price of postage, and you essentially get books for that price.
What I really like about BookMooch is that it allows international mooching (although you don't have to send internationally if you don't want to for whatever reason). A few other sites are US- or UK-only, and as someone who has loved books for most of her life, I absolutely believe in the importance of circulating books amongst people who want to read them, especially because it's likely harder to get some books in other parts of the world.
So yeah, those of you on the flist with books to spare should join and be my friend! This is me. :> I've had an absolutely awesome experience on there so far, so I hope more people can join me!
