omg i love those two girls with their adorable squishy faces
So...does anyone else listen repeatedly to a song/album/artist/whatever while reading a pairing/character/fandom/genre and then end up associating the two for eternity? It's happened to me three times now (that I can remember off the top of my head, anyway).
1. Massive Attack - Teardrop
I listened to this song on repeat while reading Tallis (the 170+ part JuC&Trickyfish fantasy AU) at 3 in the morning, hoping my mother wouldn't wake up and be angry with me for sneaking out of bed. Now whenever I hear it, I always remember sitting in the dark and reading that fic. :3
2. JYONGRI - POSSESSION
While I was into this song, I was searching obsessively for Shunsui/Jyuushirou fic. Now I can't hear it without thinking of them. It kind of makes sense, in a way. When I hear the lyrics "You are my possession", I think about how they are completely each other's, and it fits.
3. 蕭亞軒 - 表白
This just happened a few days ago. -_- I was reading a fairly long Neji/Naruto WIP while listening to this song, which is super catchy. And then it turned out the fic was probably the best I've read of the pairing *O* (the fact it totally had my kinks done well wasn't that big of a factor, okay, the fic itself tore my heart out with the tangibility of the emotions within it, the love and longing and ;o;). So now I think of Neji longing after Naruto and it makes my heart ;o;. Plus the title of the song means "telling you my romantic feelings", so.

Okay, guys, I totally have this idea for Itachi fic.
So what if Itachi had been a girl? Naruto is dominated by strong men; I've felt for a long time that Konan is a "token female", much like how there is one girl on every team as a "token female". And the strongest people in the series are male. Male prodigies, whatever. Girls? Medic-nin, a lot of them. Not to say there aren't strong female characters, but they are far overshadowed by the male characters.
So imagine Itachi as first-born and a girl. No one had heard of a girl prodigy before, but there she is. They don't want her to be the heir at first, but then there's no reason not to because she is a genius. Everything's pretty much the same except she's never involved in the plans for the massacre...because she's a girl. Shisui is the double agent instead, only he's betraying Konoha for the clan; he and Itachi are still bff, but he tries to kill her to get the Mangekyou.
Anyway, she goes missing, blah blah, the Uchiha Massacre doesn't happen but there's a civil conflict in Konoha instead, and Sasuke still ends up being the last Uchiha in Konoha. Except his goal now is to find his missing sister rather than kill Itachi, while her goal is to kill Shisui. Aaaah, I don't even know except that Itachi would be really kick-ass as a girl. What would be even cooler would be if the rest of Akatsuki were also the opposite sex. ;o; They could be a kick-ass group of kunoichi bent on proving girls aren't weak.
