Speaking of explicit, Thor's arrival couldn't have communicated better that he was not from around here! After all, arriving in a small explosion of lightning wasn't easy to miss in this part of town. With a smile, Thor touched down to the pavement and strode towards the coffee house, wearing his signature uniform, his hammer at his side all the while. He took no notice of the stares he was getting, being more interested in finding the woman he was here to speak with.

"And here is the Songbird?" he enquired with an easy smile, holding out a hand to her as a way of greeting. "A pleasure to meet you at last. Why don't we find a seat outside?"

"Wow. That was...an entrance." She tried to keep her composure, and, really, did a pretty good job. Melissa was used to superhero stuff, after all. But Thor was kind of a big deal and she didn't have the best relationship with the Avengers, if she was honest. For reasons that were their fault, and for reasons that were

But then, this wasn't the Thor from her universe. That Thor said things like "thou" and "yea" and "fair maidens" and "mead." He didn't show up in Seattle coffeeshops, she was pretty sure.

"You can just call me Melissa," she said. This didn't seem like the place for codenames, despite Thor's outfit. Or was it? This was outside her protocol. "But sure. We can go outside."

"Excellent. You may take a moment, if you like, to purchase something. I would buy us both a drink, but I do not carry money while travelling this way." Not that Thor felt they'd be too harassed in this area... most of the people there didn't seem as agitated about the interdimensional immigrants as other areas.

At once, the thunder god found a table and genially offered Melissa a seat before sitting down as well. "So, these are unpleasant things we must speak of, eh? All dealing with your friend Karla. Would you like to get that off your mind now? I'd be happy if you'd wish to have a drink of something first."

"I think I will, thanks. Do you want anything? Because I try to have a few bucks on me at all times. Regardless of travel method." And having something sugary was probably a lot better than talking about Karla. At least for a bit.

"Ah, only if you don't mind me owing you, miss." Thor shrugged his shoulders and then looked thoughtful, leaning back in his chair. "Hmm... perhaps a cup of jasmine tea, if not too much trouble? I try to avoid caffeine; it is yet another thing that contributes to society's addictions." Another thing that Melissa might find different - the Thor she was used to probably was not a left-leaning radical.

No. But Melissa didn't know much about the Thor of her world. The only Avenger she knew and trusted was Hawkeye. And maybe Black Widow. And after what Norman did to the team, she couldn't imagine many real heroes were really jumping at the chance to meet her.

But she did have action figures.

"Sure," she said, heading over to the counter, then adding, "I guess you don't have much trouble waking up."

The thunder god followed her in, laughing at her question. "Please. To do what I do, one must have a rigorous and highly adaptable sleep schedule. I catch a few hours here and there when I can afford it, wherever I can take it, but there's so much to do, and when you can be anywhere, well..." He shrugs his shoulders with a smile. "You can say I'm efficient at time management."

As they worked their way through the line-up to the counter, Thor gave Melissa a side-long glance. "So. Out of curiosity... the Masters of Evil," he speaks, annunciating the syllables in the title while trying to keep a straight face. "I'm hoping you didn't come up with the title?"

"No. I didn't come up with anything. That was sort of my problem." Which wasn't meant to be an apology. Or an excuse. Just a simple statement of fact.

It really was an awful name.

"You can be forgiven for that... although I'm curious about your motivations," Thor continued, looking at her with interest. "Did you associate yourself with 'evil'? Of being wicked, or were you dragged into it, more or less? You've indicated that you've wanted to make up for past wrongs."

Their conversation had a brief halt as they made it through the line-up and to the counter. By this time, there were many stares in their direction... particularly at Thor, for his size and for the fact that he carried a bona fide warhammer with him. The cashier seemed to be having trouble making a decision of whether to take their orders or call the police.

"Please, no need to act shocked," he assured the woman behind the counter with a raised hand. "We simply wish to order something. Melissa, if you could?" He glanced to her with another smile of his, though with a gaze that indicated that perhaps they should hurry this up so that they didn't agitate the poor humans any further.

"Right. He'll have a cup of jasmine tea, and I'll have the caramel thing with whipped cream on it." She smiled at the counter-lady. She's been standing all day, and probably had to deal with difficult customers. And Thor was probably scaring her, yeah, so Melissa left a bit extra in the tip jar.

She'd already left the counter when she responded to Thor, heading over to the little waiting area where others were sanding around waiting for their coffee. Well, now they were standing around waiting for their coffee and being frightened by Thor. "I don't want to make up for my past, I just want to do what's right now. That's really all I can, do," she said, quirking an eyebrow. "And who here's in a position to forgive me?"
