Warren had indeed enjoyed a night out, and was just returning home for a change of clothing. Doing his job in what civvies he had wasn't exactly the best idea, so he preferred to change into his uniform. However, before he could land down in front of the motel, Warren caught sight of Yuugao up on the roof, so he thought he'd head over and say hi.

After all, his interest was especially piqued when he noticed the other man was...sewing?

"Yuugao," he greeted, and slowed to a hover in front of the roof edge. "What's up?"

Yuugao heard Warren coming - though he didn't recognize it as Warren himself until the wind felt a little too strong for a raven or bird of prey.

"Warren," he nodded his head and narrowed his eyes. All of the wind produced by the wings was tossing the shirt he was working on all over the place. "Do you mind landing? It's a little...harder to work when you're doing that."

Right. Warren had to remember that some people weren't exactly used to that yet. He did as requested and folded his wings neatly behind him as he regarded his roommate. "I didn't know you could sew."

Though considering the things Yuugao could do that he'd witnessed already, he shouldn't have been too surprised.

"Thank you," Yuugao smoothed out the material again. "I'm multi-talented, Warren." He did another stitch and looked up at his roommate. He may as well get the question out of the way.

"May I ask you a potentially sensitive question?"

Sensitive? Warren wasn't overtly fond of sensitive conversations most of the time, so his shoulders stiffened a little. What could that be all about?

"Go nuts," he replied as casually as he could. Might as well hear Yuugao out.

Yuugao sat up straight and watched Warren for a moment before speaking in a slow, even tone. "I've been washing dishes just to eat. We both were broke when we arrived here and now you're buying food and clothing." He narrowed his eyes.

"So just how are you getting all of this money?" What skill did Warren have that would get him paid that Yuugao couldn't do?

Oh, jeez. That wasn't so bad! Warren let out an almost relieved sounding sigh, and gave Yuugao a casual shrug. "That woman Annie Prendergast from Seattle? She offered me a job."

He wasn't hiding anything. Why Warren was chosen and not anyone else? His guess was that it had something to do with the fact that this world's version on him was already an established hero and he got the lucky break.

"I'm dealing with civilian crime and watching out for other metahumans brought here. Making sure we're all safe."

"Oh," Yuugao let his gaze drop to the shirt he was stitching back together and let out a slow sigh. At least there was potential for him to join in on the new-found wealth.

"Do you think she'd hire me, too? I can't say I've dealt with much civilian crime, but I don't imagine it would be too difficult compared to A-class missions."

"I have no idea," Warren admitted honestly. "She just called me out the blue one day and gave me the offer saying she wanted someone in charge of it; she didn't say anything about no one else getting hired. I just don't know much about her pocket book or how she wants the system to work; I got orders and I took them."

Warren really didn't want Yuugao to think that this was some hush-hush secret or that he was hiding things because it wasn't the case at all. He was only two days into his new job, and just hadn't found an acceptable time to announce it yet; Warren wanted to make sure it was a steady thing.

"There's a lot of petty crap going on around here, though. Vandalism, harassment, and break and entries. Stuff like that."

Yuugao nodded and considered his options. It couldn't hurt to try and contact her, could it? At least he would have tried.

"I see," he did another two stitches and frowned to himself. "At least after tonight I'll have more than one outfit to wear. They don't look too bad, do they?" Yuugao gestured to the seemingly straight-off-the-rack jeans and plain gray polo shirt laid out behind him. The inside-out green t-shirt wasn't finished yet, but all of the stitching was even and nearly perfect.

"No, they don't at all," Warren admitted. He was a bit envious of the fact that Yuugao could fix his own clothes. Right then, Warren was still stuck unable to even wear shirts because he didn't have anyone willing to alter his clothes for him. It wouldn't have been such a pain in the ass if it wasn't for the fact that he either had to wear a trench coat in the hot weather or his uniform if he wanted service anywhere.

"Think you'd be willing to fix a couple more things for a few extra bucks?" he questioned slowly. It couldn't hurt to try, right?

Now that caught Yuugao's attention. He cocked his head and looked over Warren slowly - as if finally noticing Warren's build and figure in detail. The wings would certainly prove problematic, but that was also likely the source of so many of Warren's problems with his clothes. Otherwise, Warren wasn't a terribly hard fit -- most good shinobi had a similar build.

"What kind of repairs would you need?" Though he was almost giddy with anticipation at finding a way to earn money without cleaning up after people who wasted so much food, he managed not to show it.

Warren gestured to his midsection. "Shirts. I've got really big shoulders in comparison to my waist and the wings make it extra hard to wear anything. If I got myself a few tops, would you be able to alter them for me?"

He had the money to pay expensive tailors back home to make it look good and professional. Even if Yuugao could only get it half way perfect, that was a hell of a lot better than nothing. "I just need something to fit these things through in the back; it doesn't even have to be big--two fist sizes holes, even."

"I can certainly try..." Yuugao got to his feet and continued to look at Warren - now focusing on his wings. He side-stepped until he could get a better look at where they connected.

"It might be wise to use one of the shirts we were given as a first try -- these kind of alterations done wrong would ruin the shirt." He paused and tried not to think about how he was about to make yet another odd request. "Mind if I touch your wings? It'd be good to know how flexible they are."

Warren turned slightly, cautiously allowing him to touch. "They're pretty flexible. I've never had a problem moving them about and fitting them into more difficult uniforms."

The test try alteration was probably a good idea, though, yes. Thankfully he had picked up a few dusty shirts from the bins without thinking since he'd been in a bit of a panicked hurry.

"I appreciate this, by the way."

Yuugao mostly tested to see how easily the feathers gave and get a better idea of how much muscle and bone there was in comparison to just feather.

"Nn," he nodded and smiled at Warren when he looked back. "It's not much trouble, it will keep my hands busy. Which is a good thing right now. But I'll be expecting a good word with this Annie lady if she does consider hiring me." Yuugao pointed a jokingly threatening finger at Warren and put on a dramatically serious expression to match.
