After talking to Nepeta Dean had done one final sweep of the facilities at Disney Land before heading down back to his hotel room. He'd stayed there for a few more days, looking for signs that Sammy had run off or been taken unwillingly. When nothing turned up after a few days Dean decided to hit the road again. If Sam had been taken he'd have a better chance at catching up to him on the road. He still wasn't sure if he'd rather Sam be wandering around in this world somewhere or back home… in the cage with Lucifer. That's where Sam seemed to think he'd be headed at least.
So Dean packed up his car, tossing Sam's things that had been left behind and five pairs of Mickey Mouse ears on the passenger seat - trying to ignore the fact that it was otherwise empty. That Sam should be sitting there and coming with him. But there wasn't much that he could do about it now, so he started the engine, pulled away from the motel, and hit the highway again.
When he entered Truth or Consequences several hours later Dean parked in front of the Buckaroo Motel. Wasn't this one of the buildings that other "imports" were housed in? Not that he really gave a fuck right now, but at least nobody seemed to be demanding payment for his crashing there. He found a room that appeared to be unoccupied and free of personal belongings, sprawled on one of the beds, and fell asleep.
Several hours later he woke up and made his way out to the car to brush his teeth and see what sort of left over food he had in there for breakfast. That done, Dean debated calling Nepeta. He'd told her he would… and she probably knew the area better than he did, so what the hell. And she wasn't so bad for a… gray skinned "human" with horns. He pulls out the phone and calls her number, telling her that he's in front of the Buckaroo Motel. That done, Dean leans against the hood of the car and waits.
