SUMMARY: Cap lost his shield when he came in. Rikki has an extra shield lying around. There is a need here that can be filled. Also, possibly hugs.
Coming to this universe has been a whirlwind of strange and stranger events for Steve. He's lost his world, his country, his shield, but he's found things too. He has a son now (again?), he's got a team (people who aren't his Avengers, but are still achingly familiar), he's found Toro and Bucky (older and changed from who they were when he knew them, but still themselves in all the ways that count) and now he's about to meet ... he's not sure how to describe her, actually.
Rikki was the partner of a Captain America somewhere, somewhen, which means that Steve has never met her before, but he has a responsibility to at least make sure that she's doing well. He's got a good feeling about this, though, and there's a part of him that's hoping that after today, they might be able to become friends. You can never have too many of those.
