WHAT: Iron Man somehow became a human! A female too. Go figure.
WHERE: Basement Lab!
WHEN: RIGHT NOW
WARNINGS: Nakedness (HANK TOTALLY ISN'T LOOKING THOUGH! HIS EYES ARE TOTALLY STAYING FORWARD OR UP)

I'm seriously not witty enough for these things )

Iron Man had a strong dislike for sudden, unexplained phenomena. People suddenly swapping bodies, forced shared telepathy, the vanishing sun, and this. Given that two of the previous three were never solved and merely ended on their own did nothing to improve its feelings on the current situation.

As far Iron Man could tell, this body was functioning as intended. A tragic shortcoming of the human body was the inability to self-diagnose. Nothing hurt, though the temperature of the room and all the surfaces was unpleasant. But being very vulnerable and losing all offensive and defensive capabilities along with almost all sensory input and all network connection was by far worse than anything else that it had suffered.

"Hank. It's me," Hearing the wrong voice when it spoke was unsettling. High pitched and human. "I called you here."

"Miss, I don't know how you got a hold of Iron Man's phone, but I must insist that you show yourself immediately."

And then it dawned on him. Nobody had access to this lab other than Jan, Bruce, Tony, Iron Man, and himself. Anybody else entering this space uninvited would have run into security protocols, Hank would have known immediately if somebody had tried to break in or entered without authorization.

That could only mean one thing. "Iron Man?"

Since Hank had come to the correct conclusion with relatively little convincing, Iron Man leaned out partially from where she was hiding. This body was relatively easy to adjust to.

Long red hair went down past her shoulders. "Yes. Hank. You have to help me fix this. My brain isn't -- I can't think fast enough. I'm vulnerable, all my sensors are gone, and it's cold in here. I don't want to be like this. I'm useless."

Aside from looking tense and perhaps faintly annoyed there wasn't much expression on Iron Man's face. Facial muscles were a new experience, as was the experience of talking with a mouth and vocal cords.

Hank didn't really have a chance to get a good look at the suit's new face, since the first thing that registered in his mind was that he, now she, wasn't wearing any clothes, so before she had a chance to step all the way out from her hiding place, he'd quickly turned around, not wanting to make her uncomfortable... Well, more uncomfortable ( ... )

Hank's odd behavior was slightly irritating, and Iron Man wasn't happy that its new body appeared to be giving him trouble. Iron Man hadn't paid much attention to the specifics of this body, more distressed that it wasn't the one Tony had built ( ... )

Hank wasn't intentionally being weird around Iron Man, but he didn't want to make the other more uncomfortable than this entire situation already was. It didn't help that the suits new body was... Surprisingly attractive. To say the least, it should have been very difficult for Tony Stark to ignore her. Once she put on the coat though, Hank was back to business.

"That means that it was probably caused by something outside of the lab. Which means that it can be any number of possibilities." He runs his hands through his hair, sighing and heading over to a table where his goggles sat. "It could be another anomaly in this reality, but until we know if others are experiencing similar effects, we should assume it was caused by a smaller source..."

He looked over at the suit for a moment. It made sense that the she was cold, the lab was the coolest part of the house. "We could take this somewhere else, if you would like... We should probably get you some real clothes. I can't changes the temperature, due to some sensitive experiments."

"I'd rather stay here," Iron Man was very quick to say that. The idea of leaving the lab like this was unappealing ranging to horrifying. The lab was moderately secure, and as the home of most of the Avengers would probably be well-defended during an attack.

The experiments did take priority over comfort. "Clothes are acceptable. I can deal with the temperature." Iron Man wanted its body back, the one made by Tony.

"Since all my sensors are gone, thoroughly examining this body should be our first step, as well as checking for any residual energy in the lab. Both may indicate the source of this, and I want to verify that this body isn't-" Iron Man had to paused for a moment, to decide which term fit this situation best, "-defective."

Hank nodded. It was reasonable that the other wouldn't want to leave. It must be a rather frightening experience to be stuck in a body that you're not familiar with ( ... )

Iron Man considered Hank's offer of an outfit of unstable molecules, and made conscious effort to nod. Iron Man had dedicated a lot of time to recreating human expression and habit when it had constructed a robotic version of Tony.

Now it could put that knowledge to use. "You may draw some blood." Iron Man didn't like that idea, but a small amount of blood loss was acceptable.

"This being temporary would be preferable. If it cannot be reversed I have some ideas a solution, but it will take time."

Knowing the body was in good condition was comforting. There were so many potentially fatal anatomical issues that were undetected from merely observing.
