To be honest, Skyfire is utterly tickled that Soundwave requested to go for a walk. 'Walk' being a loose description. He'd rented a wheelchair, and despite the fact that Soundwave was on a decent dose of painkillers be damned. He wanted to go outside, and he was going to get what he wanted.

He looks a little unconscious, so Skyfire gingerly arranges him and wheels him down the hall, making sure to bundle him up (probably too much) against the November chill.

It's overcast outside, but at least it's not raining.

"Soundwave...?" He finally nudges the Decepticon's shoulder.

"Soundwave. Wake up..."

It takes him a moment, but eventually, his eyes open and he blinks blearily. Eventually, Soundwave lifts his head and tilts it, squinting.

Where were they...?

For a long moment he stares out. They're...

At a park.

Somehow, this slowly clicks into his mind, somewhere deep. Soundwave looks intently down towards the pond.

Seeing something fly away.

Something--

The ducks! Suddenly it clicks in for him. The ducks, Skyfire's ducks! They need to go find them.

He starts to flail before falling out from the wheelchair.

It's rather alarming to have Soundwave suddenly throw himself out of the wheelchair- the shuttle immediately moving to prop him back up, safe. He could not make sense of what he was saying, figuring it was probably the painkillers talking.

Perhaps this was not a great idea.

"Are you alight? You took quite a fall, now come on, lean back. I'll get you some ice cream..."

Maybe someplace a little quieter is a better idea.

Most of the words don't quite sink in to Soundwave's drugged up mind; mostly what's important is that he needs to get to the park and see the ducks.

Somehow, he needs to vocalize this importance to Skyfire.

"Spyfuh," he slurs, looking a bit hopeful. "Parp. The dups at the parp!"

Watching Soundwave flop around uselessly in the chair is possibly one of the most deeply disheartening things the shuttle has ever witnessed.

This was not a good idea.

The numbing agent he'd given Soundwave for his chafed lips due to that clamp he'd had on his face is making him indecipherable.

Over the course of time of mumbling and sputtering the jumbled words that somehow only make sense to him, Soundwave starts clinging to Skyfire's sleeves desperately.

"Parp! PARP. Spyfuh, the dups at th' parp! I need to get to the parp!"

By now people are stopping to stare, and Skyfire is getting more than a little worried by the way this whole scenario is unfolding.

"You want to go to the park?" Comprehension. Finally.

"Soundwave, calm down. I think you really need to go home. Your face is all scraped up from that fall you took and you're delirious. I know you're excited to be outside but you need to be calm."

Gradually, his voice becomes more warped due to a combination of his powers and his delirium. Soundwave's eyes water up at being denied to going to the park. Somehow, this absolutely breaks his spark.

"Spyfuhrrrr, THE DUPS. The dups at the parp. They're here and I can go see them I can I can I can!"

Okay. That's it.

Skyfire decides to take a more firm tone.

"No."

At this point, Soundwave just begins to absolutely bawl. Somehow, he just couldn't understand. Why didn't Skyfire want to see the ducks?! Weren't they still important? Didn't he want to make sure they were okay?

It'd been so long since he'd seen them, and he thought for sure they were gone. But now he could make sure!

"Why? Why not? Why can't we go see the dups? They're important, Spyfuhr! I can go see them, I can do it!! PLEASE, SPYFUHR!"

"No! You're having an episode. We're going home."

At this point he turns the wheelchair around and sees the small handful of people watching this whole thing unfold.

What a terrible man, denying his poor, challenged brother.

Meanwhile Soundwave still flailing about, sobbing.

The disapproving faces of the onlookers.

He turns the chair around again.

"Okay. Okay. We'll go! Just shhhhh." He quickly wheels his friend toward the pond in the park. What was so special about it anyways? Why did he want so badly to-

Oh.

The ducks. In the park.

Dups.

Ducks.

And now he really feels bad.

Much to his relief, Skyfire agrees to take him to the pond. Almost like an off-switch, the waterworks turn off and the Decepticon looks immensely pleased as they head to the pond.

And there is relief as he sees the ducks.

His voice changes to his more normal monotone, emitting, "THEY ARE SAFE."

It's horridly cute. Mostly sad, though. They're not the ducks Soundwave is seeking, but that doesn't matter.

What matters is that Soundwave does care.

And now the shuttle feels horrid for snapping at him.

"I'm so sorry." He drapes his arms around teh Decepticon. Probably the only time he'll ever get a real hug out of him, but that hardly matters.

The hug makes him pause.

Then arms drape around Skyfire's neck, flopping a bit as he leans up to hug him back.

"APOLOGY: REJECTED."

"Oh, Soundwave." Skyfire sighs quietly.

"You're really drugged up."

But the thought is nice.

The thought is very, very nice.
