"I know. I used to live in one of the hotels too. They're kind of gross, really, and bad things happen sometimes."
She pauses for a moment. Molly knew Chase well enough to tell when he was hiding something, when something was obviously not right. The only thing was that she couldn't tell what it was, and she didn't want to pry and risk upsetting him. She had been the only one from their time before Chase had arrived, and while she liked all the others, she didn't really feel like she could relate to them anymore. So, Chase being here was really important to her, and she didn't want to upset him once again.
"Warren is one of the X-Men," She was quick not to leave it at that, given their history with the X-Men. "But he's really cool! He isn't like Wolverine or Cyclops or any of the others that were all jerks to us... He's been taking care of me."
She looks down for a minute, not really knowing where to go from there. It was weird to admit that she had been depending on someone that wasn't one of them, that was an adult no less. She wondered if Chase would be mad at her for that...
"Is there anything you need help with? I've been here a while, so I know a thing or two."
Chase frowned down at her. "Bad things? And where're you staying now?" he asked, glancing up at one of the hotels that was further down the street. If there was somewhere nicer he could stay, he'd be interested. Though it wasn't the worst he'd stayed in, it was a stark contrast to Malibu. Not that it was habitable anymore.
His eyebrow did raise when Molly mentioned that Warren was looking after her but not because he was an X-Man (though that automatically dropped his trustworthy points down a couple of notches). It was because he knew the others were here--or at least some form of them, and the fact that Molly was relying on someone else was not on. Even if he had his issues, Molly would still always be high up there.
"Wait, aren't the others here?" he asked her, frowning some more. "Why aren't they looking out for you?"
Chase watched how sad she looked, and felt almost bad that he wanted nothing more to get away and get some beer and pass out so he didn't have to think about any of this. He sighed, and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I think I'm good for now. You could help me out by filling me in on the stuff that's happened to you since you got here, if you want."
