SUMMARY: Powers are gone, they live outside and today just really sucks.
The loss of the sun had been a clue when Laura awoke. Not the biggest one, but big enough. Next was when Laura couldn't smell properly. She couldn't smell every last little thing in the closest dumpster, nor could she smell cooking from a block so far from them. There was the hearing, too. She couldn't hear any heartbeats, or any far away conversations. She was cut off and dull to the world, which should have been punishment enough.
But it wasn't.
To add on top of everything, Laura couldn't heal. Her claws popped out of her skin just as usual when she'd become panicked, but the small cuts didn't heal. Blood dripped from her knuckles, and she stared at it in morbid curiousity. To test it, she cut little marks into an arm, watching and waiting to see if it would heal.
It did not.
What had she done? The capekillers hadn't had her, but Loki was able to do such things. She had burned his note, and for her punishment, he had taken everything that was important. He had taken away all she was good for because now she was just a clone. An echo of a person without any use at all. Training was good to have, but her healing factor was important. It was the most necessary part of her, and now it was gone. Loki would want her to feel this way. Loki would...
But why did he make the sun disappear?
Another cut into her arm. And another. Laura just couldn't stop right then, as she was so upset beyond belief, that this was the only way to solve it. This was the only way she knew how to make herself feel better. Loki. Loki...She still did not like him.
She completely forget Kiden was still sleeping next to her, as Laura had almost fallen into a trance right there. Feeling close to how she would in the white room at The Facility. It was just...nothing. The blood trickling down her arms didn't even bother her.
