I'm sure most will write them off as part of the "big floppy black hair brigade" though I still maintain that they predate it - saw Thursday last.. uh.. Thursday, and they were totally stunning. Their songs have a great ability to make it feel like your head's been hit by a speeding bus - their intro to At This Veolcity in particular left me momentarily with a "What the hell just happened?" feeling.
I've properly warmed to the new album - standout tracks at the show included The Other Side of the Crash, and Sugar in the Sacrement. Still think Counting's a weak track to have used for a single, but hey.
It's still nice to see a band continuing to be interesting in a sea of chaff.
