Dear Makers of Ratatouille,
This is what your film has taught me:
1. I can't be a chef but I can be a cook (following recipes is all I can do).
2. Nowadays, I can only survive by appropriating masculine qualities (like shooting guns and throwing knives and having a huge chip on my shoulders that manifests in aggression and anger)
3. There is no such thing as a female rat.
4. Love and family serve to disrupt and threaten creative genius.
5. Any position of power can still only be held by a white male - or, sooner an anthropomorphic male rat than a human female or human of color.
6. But now I think that rats are sooooooooooo cute, which is utterly revolutionary.
I think I'll go watch some pr0n now.
gender politics,
