I'm here!
After an early, early morning wake up call from my Mom, who goddess that she is came up from Trinidad to help me make the move up to Seattle. I got to the airport and found that my flight was considerably delayed. We sat on the tarmac for almost an hour waiting to figure out what was going on with our flight. I'm happy to say that I made my way here without any problems.
I got to the airport in time to see an elderly gentleman commit the cardinal sin of traffic incidents. He was waiting for his wife to come back to the car and a police officer pulled up behind him and ordered him to move his car. He tried to move so quickly that he banged into the front of her car before she could stop him. Zoiks! When my ride arrived he was still filling out paperwork. I didn't see any damage but I'm sure that she's going to give him a ticket for something.
Patty and Annie met me at the Ferry and drove me over to their place. We were catching up and hanging out when the boxes that I mailed FedEx from San Francisco arrived. It was pretty awesome because we hadn't been at their place for more than 20 minutes when the boxes arrived. It meant that I was able to bring all my stuff up at the same time and pack it out into my space. Clearly there are somethings that I'm going to need. I need some hanging organizers for my closet, some drawers and some little baskets or plastic organizers for the rolling shelf unit in my room.
The space is really lovely. I unfortunately forgot my camera so the pictures will have to keep until I get my next box from home. Mom and Danien are going to mail me the things that I'm missing.
Bainbridge is so amazingly green and I'm already loving the graduate living situation. I think that I'm going to make some good friends here. There are a couple girls here that I can already see myself enjoying getting to know better. Happily my roomie Caitlin is among them. More on that later...
So far so good with the whole Islandwood experience.
