(no subject)
Ponderous is always a word that occurs to me, coming round the corner on the bus. It's the only word that fits and I like to think it.
Just been to see Rambo, and it was pretty good. It made me think about how violence is much easier to watch when it's the good guys killing the bad guys, instead of the bad killing the good. I suppose because you get a sense of rightness restored, of justice being dealt and an imminent happy ending. But really all you have is perspective, and rightness can really only ever be subjective. On the subject of points of view, thre's a film out soon (vantage point?) which looks like it could be very clever if it's done properly and lives up to the promise of the trailer.
Last night was Rubix Cube night, where everyone starts out in 6 different colours (of the rubix cube, nonetheless) and the swaps clothing/accessories to try and end up dresed all in one colour. I ended up half yellow and half green, so failed, but it was good fun. I swapped all my accessories for t-shirts, so some people must have been pretty cold, lol. And yet somehow came home with bracelets, too. I must have been just stealing, rather than swapping, because I came home with more items than I went with. Either that or I'm a better negotiator than I give myself credit for...
