By my count (which could be inaccurate but I'm not counting multiple times), I have read 66 of the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. I guess I need to read faster or live longer.
I wasn't surprised to see that 52 of those books were in the first 500 which went through about 1950 and only 14 of those books were in the later 501. I wasn't surprised to see that 52 of those books were in the first 500 which went through about 1950 and only 14 of those books were in the later 501. I'm not a big fan of older literature, particularly 1800s era novels. I tried to read Wuthering Heights once and I felt like my brain was bleeding. I'd love to get some reading recommendations out of this, if anyone sees an unbolded favorite on this list.
