Writer's Block: Ten for the Tenth

Nov 15, 2008 00:10

Ooooh boy, let's get started =D

10. You're a Woman, I'm a Machine
Death From Above 1979
-This album is AWESOME!  The fact that this is the only full album they put out makes it so much more awesome :D.  This is for when you want to snap your neck from headbanging.

9. Atlantis - Hymns for Disco
K-Os
-Best hip-hop/soul album I can think of.  So many different blends of musical styles from song to song, something for everyone.

8. (What's the Story) Morning Glory
Oasis
-Britpop's defining band, Oasis' best album.  'Nuff said.

7. The Green Album (self-titled)
Weezer
-So chill, so relaxed, so....amazing.  Weezer's best work, no doubt about it.

6. 10,000 Days
Tool
-From relaxing to rocking, this album has 9 songs clocking 5+ minutes.  Hardcore, yet somehow soothing.  Perfect for late night homework/studying :P

5. Good News for People Who Love Bad News
Modest Mouse
-Groundbreaking.  Transcendant.  *more hype words*  That's pretty much everything used to describe Modest Mouse, and this is the personal favourite, although you can't go wrong with any of them.

4. The Crane Wife
The Decemberists
-An album based on a Japanese folk tale and a Shakespearean play.  That's just destined to be amazing.

3. Wolfmother (self-titled)
Wolfmother
-The best rock revival band and album in the last 10 years.  This reminds us of the 70's, a decade of rock in 13 tracks.

2. Icky Thump
The White Stripes
-Best WS album to date, and the most diverse.  Excellent use of various instruments and different styles.  Near perfection.

1. As Fas As the Eye Can See
People in Planes
-Absolute favourite album.  Completely addicted since I discovered them.  No words to describe, but you should definitely check them out!

music, writer's block, top 10
