So I turned off the scanner, turned off my laptop, unplugged both of them, plugged them back in, turned them on, turned them off, unplugged them.... And so on. And now it works. Psh. I wish I knew what I did wrong the last time, but even more so I wish I knew what I did *right.* Oh well.
