Who: Kite and Kai
When: BACKLOGGED :D To a few days before the 1 vs 4 match
Where: Courts, hallway, baths
What: SEX. Or at least, Kai wishes. :|
Kai had been walking on air today. It wasn't his fault his head was in the clouds, Kai blamed it all on Rin. Kai was busy making plans to get more kisses, or more than a kiss, out of Rin. He knew that he needed to focus, after all Team Flaming's pride was on the line in their next match, but he just couldn't.
Kite was making his way back to his room after practice when he spotted Kai. The corners of his lips twitched up as he walked toward him; Kai didn't seem to notice him. "Dreaming in broad daylight again, Yuujirou?" Kite asked when he reached Kai, nudging him on the shoulder with his racket. He was still probably dazed from that kiss he mentioned.
Huh, that sounded like Kite. Was Kite in his dream to? "Eishirou!" Kai cracked a grin and came back to earth, for the moment anyway. "Hey. Sorry, was distracted." Kai batted Kite's racket aside.
Kite shook his head. "That was obvious," he said. Kite knew what it was most likely about. It was easy to guess. "Is it about Rin?"
If anyone but Kite had asked, not that anyone but Kite knew, Kai probably would have grinned and bragged. Since it was Kite though Kai felt his cheeks heat a little. "Yeah. Well, he can't kiss me and expect me to not do anything. Or to not think about it." Kai had thought about Rin, and Kite, with far less motivation.
"Hn." Kite was... Honestly speaking he might be a little jealous. "Well, it's Rin. I don't think he knows how to think before he acts," Kite shrugged. Most of the time it was true. Rin, he'd observed, acted mostly through instinct. "But aren't you supposed to be more focused this week? Your captain would be disappointed if he sees you walking around like a love-struck zombie," he said with a smirk. Kite had heard that this Saturday's match was an important one for Team Four.
"Gaaah." Kai glanced around to make sure Sengoku was nowhere in sight. "Well, yeah, and I've been practicing!" Kai shrugged, his grin widening into a smirk. Flinging an arm over Kite's shoulder Kai leaned closer to him. "Don't be jealous Eishirou! I'm sure Rin'll kiss you too!" Maybe. Rin was kind of impulsive like that. Kai knew that Rin was interested in Kite, it was just a matter of Rin figuring out he was interested in Kite.
Kite raised an eyebrow. "I highly doubt that, Yuujirou" he said. Even if Rin was impulsive, Kite didn't think he'd get the same treatment as Kai. He was sure Rin liked Kai. Which wasn't so bad, really. Kite thought they look good together. If, you know, they swung that way. Which was highly possible for Rin. And if Kai was daydreaming about it like that, then good for them. Kite wasn't jealous. At least, he'd never admit it. "And how exactly is your training doing?" Kite asked, changing the subject.
"..." Kai scratched at his head under his cap. Kite was acting weird today... Nothing noticable, unless you knew him really well. "My training? It's... okay." It wasn't Okinawa, and there was no spartan endurance training or hot sun beating down on you all the time. Kai felt like he was slacking off because of it. "I'm hoping to get put up against that Saeki dude from Rokkaku, and I really need an edge though. It's not coming." Kai glanced at Kite's racket with a speculative gleam in his eye. "Play with me?"
Kite pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose. "Very well," he said. It wasn't as if he had anything else to do. And playing Kai would be good practice, too. Kite rested his racket on his shoulders, tapping it lightly. "Would you like to do this now, or after dinner?"
Kai considered it. After dinner they would have more time, sure, but Kai might forget. Plus he had Kite here right now so.... "Right now." Kai turned around and headed back to the courts. "No time like the present!"
Kite just nodded and followed Kai back to the courts. How long has it been since he last played Kai? Too long, if he couldn't remember. "One set match, then," Kite said. "And you can have the first service game."
"You're not trying to take it easy on me are you Eishirou?" Kai fished in his pocket for a tennis ball. He wasn't going to turn down an advantage, not when he was playing Kite, but Kai didn't like the thought that Kite might be taking him lightly. When Kai finally got the ball out of his pocket Kai fell back to the serve line and eyed Kite on the other side of the courts.
Kite smirked as he took his position at the baseline on the other side of the court. "I wouldn't dream of it, Yuujirou," he said, readying himself for Kai's serve. "If I did, you wouldn't get better."
Kai frowned at Kite. Man, Kite was such an ass. Grinning Kai leaned back and tossed the ball in the air, serving the ball as hard as he could at Kite's head. It was as good a place to aim as any. "Glad you're thinking of me!"
"Of course!" Kite returned the serve easily. Either Kai's aim was bad, or his footwork was faster than the ball; either way, he had avoided getting hit by Kai's serve. He planned on giving him a very, very hard time. "Can't have you slacking off now, can I?"
Kai wasn't nearly as good as Kite at getting from one side of the court to the other, but he was fast enough to catch up to and return Kite's hit. "Well, they never said camp was going to be easy."
Kite's reply was returning the ball to the other side of the court. Kai wanted a practice match, and he'd get a practice match. Kite wouldn't dare go easy on him. It was insulting. Kite kept hitting the ball, aiming for Kai's weak points. "Why don't you use your viking horn?!" Kite asked as he smashed the ball.
Kai dived for that last ball and missed. "Damn it." Kai tossed his racket in the air and flipped it around. "You want the viking horn? Fine I'll hit the viking horn!" Kai hated to break the viking horn out early in a match. Like his feet movements Kai knew it was lacking something. It gave Kai and edge but the rest of his play style was just simple tennis. It wasn't like Seigaku's whacked out glowing tennis.
"You're getting weak," Kite taunted. It was easy to return the Viking Horn once you were used to it-- Kite had practiced with Kai even before they reached Nationals. Their rallies continued on, but in the end, Kite won the match, 6-1. He had to admit, even if Kai had the Viking Horn and was a good enough player, he would have to learn something new if he wanted to get better. "Good game," Kite said, walking over to the net.
Kai leaned on his knees and took deep breaths. Damn, now he was frustrated and even more sweaty and tired than he had been before. "Yeah." Kai shook some of the sweat off before making his way to the net to shake Kite's hand. "Good game." Kai looked around. "Shame Rin's not here, maybe you'd get a kiss."
"Hn." Kite shook his head, somehow amused. "I really doubt he would." He smiled at Kai. Still, it might have been nice... Kite reached out to pat Kai's shoulder before draping his arm around him. "Let's head back. We'll have another match tomorrow, and you better show me something new."
Kai whined and slumped against Kite. He'd never admit it but he really liked having Kite's arms around him. Actually, Kai liked a lot of stupid things that included Kite touching him. Kai even liked it when Kite kicked his ass. "By tomorrow? Eishirou! Give me two days!"
Kite shook his head. "Tomorrow. You'll have plenty of time," he said. "I know you can do it." He might have smiled at Kai to encourage him, but it was Kite-- who knew when he smiled or not?
Aww. That was totally a smile. Kai got a smile! "You know Eishirou." Kai slung one sweaty tired arm around Kite's shoulders. "This camp is soooo good for you. I've gotten you to laugh, and now you're being encouraging." This camp was totally good for Kite. And Rin. And Kai's sex life possibly. "This camp rocks."
Kite raised an eyebrow and looked at Kai, his lips were curled into a side. "What are you talking about?" He asked, almost teasingly. "I'm always encouraging." He wanted to laugh, Kite did. Kai was right. Kite found himself enjoying camp, and that, he supposed, was good enough in itself.
"No you're not." Kai tipped his hat back so he didn't accidentally knock the brim into Kite's face. "You're threatening, which is not the same as encouraging." Telling Kai to succeed was not the same as threatening to stuff raw goya down his throat if he failed. Another good thing about the camp, Kite's access to goya was limited.
"Ah, I guess I am," Kite shrugged. It really didn't matter to him all that much. Threaten or encourage, as long as he got results, that's what mattered. Then again, maybe that was why people feared Higa. Funny how very few people didn't. His roommate, for example. But maybe thats why he liked Fuji-- he didn't cower in fear.
Kite looked cotemplative now. Kai poked him in the cheek. "Now who's dreaming with their eyes open, eh?" Kai stripped off his sweaty shirt and stretched. Aw man, felt nice to feel the sun on bare skin and a breeze without cloth being in the way. "You know, I bet fluorescent lights are what make Tokyo boys so pale. They're all translucent."
"I'm not daydreaming," Kite pushed his glasses back up his nose. He watched-- and appreciated-- Kai taking his shirt off. Kite suddenly missed their training back in Okinawa; on the beach, everyone just took their shirts off when they felt like it. That was one thing the camp didn't have. "Fluorescent lights, Yuujirou?" Kite asked, amused. Kai really was one of the few people who could lift his mood.
"Yeah, flourescent lights." Kai sniffed at his shirt and wrinkled his nose. This one definitly needed to be washed. Kai hoped that maybe, maybe, the pink would fade a little in the next washing. It wasn't that Kai felt pink was an unmanly color, Higa's uniform was freaking violet, Kai just felt that the pink really clashed with his hair. "You see, all those Tokyo boys don't strip off unless they're inside. The fluorescents bleach them out." Kai snickered at the thought of Tanishi becoming a bleached out white whale. He loved the guy, but Tanishi needed to drop a few.
Kite shook his head and chuckled. You never knew what Kai would come up next. He always had a very active imagination. "You never cease to amaze me," Kite said, patting Kai's bare shoulder. "But maybe that's true. It might just be a rule in the city, though." Kite didn't really care that much for Tokyo boys, anyway. Except maybe if it was Tezuka. He's a good player and a worthy rival, but that was just about it.
Kai beamed. Awesome, he'd gotten another laugh. Rin seriously wasn't going to believe him! "Maybe. Those Chiba guys are pretty tan." Kai grinned. Cock baiting. Man, he was gonna miss mocking those Rokkaku boys. Even though Kite had told him not to, Kai still indulged in a little off hand baiting. "Ah, well, least you and Rin are here." Kai ran his eyes up and down Kite's body. "And still tan."
"I believe they live in a beach community as well, so their tans should be natural," Kite said. And then he remembered who the team from Chiba was and gave Kai a look that meant gouya for punishment. "And I do hope you're not picking fights with Rokkaku anymore?" Kite sometimes wished he had normal teammates, ones that didn't like causing trouble. But then again, life wouldn't be as exciting as it is now if it weren't for them.
"Noooooo." Kai attempted to look innocent. He could sense gouya looming in his future. Kite was giving him the 'you have three seconds to wriggle out of this before I kick your ass' look. It was a look Kai had grown regrettably fond of. "I'm not. I'm being good!" Kai was allowed to think about Rokkaku wasn't he? Wasn't a crime in thinking. Unless Kite was the thought police. "You would look HOT in a police uniform." Oh shit had he said that out loud?
"You better not be," Kite said, pulling Kai's cap off him. He knew Kai hated it, which was why Kite did it when he knew Kai was being naughty. He was going to say something else to reprimand Kai when his thoughts were all of a sudden put to a stop. "I'd look what?" Kite raised an eyebrow at Kai, but he couldn't help but be amused. At least he didn't have to ask Kai what he thought about him.
"Er." Kai reached for his hat. Kai really hated having it taken off, his hair had chronic condition hat hair because of the amount of time he spent wearing the hat. Hat hair and frizzy red hair did not mix particularly well. "You'd look good. As a police officer. Ever consider it a profession?" Kai grabbed at his hat and attempted to pry it out of Kite's grip.
Kite wrestled a little with Kai for his cap, but let him get it back in the end. "No, not really," Kite replied. In fact, he hadn't thought much about the future. He was too preoccupied with tennis and martial arts at the moment, he didn't think it was too important. But if there was anything he'd like to do in the future... No, nothing yet. "I haven't really thought about it yet. What about you?"
Kai plopped his hat back on his head. He liked his hat, even if it smelled a little funny somtimes. "Well, Dad does need someone to take over the liquor store eventually, like Grandpa let him take over... but he wouldn't give it to me for a while and it'd suck to be working under my old man for forever." Kai twirled the ring on his necklace. He'd been thinking a lot about going into making jewelry. Kai liked jewelry and he was pretty good at it. Kai tended to visit this little stall every day and help out, the lady there was nice and let him sell some of his pieces. Kai could make good money making jewelry. "I kind of..." Kai vacillated between wanting to tell Kite and not wanting to tell Kite. "I want to make jewelry."
"Jewelry, huh..." Kite nodded. He could see that. Kai did like making them. "At least now I know who to approach if ever I'd need to find a unique engagement ring," he said. Not that he ever planned on getting engaged soon. It was just a thought. Besides, he has yet to meet a girl who lives up to his standards. But it did make him wonder what he should be when he's older. Kai had something in mind, and he didn't. It made him feel a little... jealous, maybe. Because he didn't know what to do with his life just yet.
Kai wrinkled his nose. Man, Kite getting engaged? That was a weird thought. Kite with a girl... getting married... having kids. Kai felt a twinge of jealousy. "Yeah, well, you'll know where to find me. Rin and I'll get an apartment and bicker like an old married couple for the rest of our lives." Or at least until Kai's favorite foods bit Kai in the ass and gave him a heart attack. "I always figured you'd go off and do something important." Kai shrugged at Kite. "Like go to ToDai or something."
"Really?" Kite looked at Kai. "I... don't think I want to go that far away just to attend University, though," he said. Kite liked Okinawa. It was small, and you'd probably know everyone by the age of ten. But Kai's comment felt like a stab to the heart. Then again, it shouldn't-- they weren't anything, just friends. It wasn't as if they were together. Besides, if Kai would be happy with Rin, then Kite wouldn't mind going away. Which was a very strange thought; should he even be thinking about these kinds of things? Kite pushed the thought away and ignored it. "I want to do something decent, at least," he said. Maybe Kite shouldn't mention he'd been keeping tabs on that American fashion design show. Someone young had won, and he wasn't that much older than him.
Kai shrugged. "Always figured you'd just..." Kai gestered at the walls around them and realized that looked stupid. "Well, Okinawa's just a tiny island." Kite was better than that. Kite was always the leader, Kai had just assumed Kite would eventually realize he was meant for bigger and better things. It kind of hurt knowing you'd be abandoned eventually. "And if you stick around too long that 'hitman' status will be heard by the wrong people."
"Everyone in my neighborhood already knows that," Kite said. "And they think it's because I've been practicing bujutsu since I was little." To Kite, it really didn't matter. Okinawa was home, and he didn't want that to change. "And the whole school knows about that, because some of the tennis club members like to talk a lot," Kite added. Why was he justifying this? He didn't justify. What he said stuck, and there was no need to justify. So what the hell was he doing?
Kai grinned. Okay, so he might gloat and brag about Kite, but Kai bragged about Rin just as much! The Habu was a wicked move. Kai bragged about Tanishi too, but not as much and generally about how much food he could stuff in his face. "Whatever you say Eishirou." Kai shrugged.
Kite nodded. Of course. He felt better now. Not that he needed to be reassured, or anything. "Do you want to take a shower first before getting something to eat?" Kite asked. It was a vital question, and had nothing to do with wanting to ask Kai to go to the baths with him.
"..." Kai weighed the two choices. "Food, getting rid of gross sticky sweat, food, getting rid of gross sticky smelly sweat." Kai grinned at Kite. "Food AFTER getting rid of gross sweat sounds pretty awesome you know." Mmm, food after a bath always tasted better. And Kai wouldn't deny the chance to peak a little in the baths. Eishirou had one of those fine bodies that made it impossible not to look.
"Let's head for the baths first, then," Kite said. Internal turmoil and conflict? Kite doesn't have them. Eager? Kite never was. Kite, however, felt like an idiot for asking, but that grin made everything better.
"Yosh!" Kai was tempted to sling a sticky, gross, smelly arm over Kite's shoulders. "..." Kai did it despite knowing that he might get a foot to the face. "Let's go." Heading towards the baths Kai checked to see if he'd gotten taller than Kite yet. "...dammit, did you grow another five centimeters?" Kai had been so close!
Kite wrinkled his nose a little at the arm over his shoulders, but he didn't mind so much. "No," he said. "Maybe you shrank?" He smiled, obviously teasing. Although, he might have grown a few centimeters; he hasn't checked.
Kai frowned deliberately, though the frown did not stay long. Kai was okay at making surprised faces, and great at making happy faces, but he wasn't good at frowning unless he really was upset. "Maybe I stayed the same. Man, I was hoping I grew."
"Maybe puberty decided to leave you alone," Kite said, shrugging. It wasn't a long trip to the baths. Once inside, Kite took clean towels from the rack for both of them, placed his things neatly in one of the empty cubbies and stripped down.
"Puberty so did not." Kai waggled his hips in Kite's direction. "I have hair in weird places! Sort of." Not a lot of hair, but Kai figured that was a Japanese thing. Kai began stripping, shoving his shoes and shirt and shorts into the cubby. The cubbies never seemed big enough, but Kai figured that was because he was messy.
"Weird places?" Kite almost chuckled. "Like on your back and in between your toes?" He took one of the smaller towels and wrapped it around his waist before stepping into the bath.
"Ewwww." Kai glanced down at his feet just in case. "That's gross Eishirou." Grabbing a towel Kai absent mindedly tied it around his waist while trotting after Kite. "That's old man hair, and then it starts coming out of their ears and noses as well." Kai swore never to get old. Being old was freaking gross and depressing.
This time, Kite had to laugh. "Thank goodness you're not an old man yet," Kite said, sinking down in the nice, hot water. He poured water over his head, liking how the hot water ran down his skin.
Kai was tempted to jump in and see if he could make an annoyingly large splash. That might get him kicked out of the baths so Kai slipped in as quietly as Kite had. Kite looked... blissful, Kai was pretty sure that was the word. Content to. Kai held his breath and ducked his head under the hot water, shutting his eyes tight.
Seeing Kai's cap float away, Kite picks it up and sets it on the edge of the bath. Kai would throw a fit if he lost it. Though, Kite wouldn't complain. As good as he looked with his cap on, Kite liked him better with his hair combed and neatly styled. He'd only seen it once, when their teachers forced him to take his cap off during the Junior High graduation ceremony.
Kai blew a few bubbles before popping back up. "Oh crap." Feeling his head Kai looked around the pool and then noted that his hat was set to the side. "Oh, thanks Eishirou." Kai grinned and splashed some water in Kite's direction. Kai tended to forget to take the hat off.
"No problem." Kite lifted his hand to at least spare him from being splashed but was a little too late, so he retaliated. He smiled a little. It reminded him on their off days on the beach and forget about tennis and just fool around.
Kai wondered if he should get Kite involved in a splash war. Splash wars were fun, and Kite looked best when wet. "You know, I hate your freaking hairdo." Kai reached over and messed with Kite's wet hair. "You look better disheveled." Like after the match Kite had played with Tezuka, when Kite had his hair mussed and blood on the side of his face. That had been hot.
Kite had to duck to avoid Kai messing his hair completely. "While I am sorry my hairstyle is not to your liking," Kite said, slicking back his wet hair, "It's much, much better to have it neat and styled rather than leave it messy and unkempt. It makes you look more... respectable." He should introduce Kai to a hairdresser one of these days.
Kai shrugged. "It's your choice, but I like it better messy." Kai'd bet it would be messy after Kite.... Okay, not something Kai should think when all that seperated his viking stick from the world was a tiny wet towel. Kai cleared his throat and squirmed slightly. "Anyway. Maybe some day I'll trade you, you can make my hair respectable and have to wear yours messy."
"Some day," Kite echoed, although he rather disliked the idea of having to have his hair messy. He also noticed Kai squirming around. "Are you alright, Yuujirou? Did you pull a muscle from our match earlier?" Kite moved closer, to check if Kai was alright.
"Er." Kai couldn't say Kite smelled good, but there was a scent memory there of sea salt and goya. "I'm fine! You didn't bend me over backwards so there wasn't anything to pull really." Did that make sense? Kai hoped it made sense. There was something in the water here at camp, Kai had never had trouble keeping his 'reactions' down before. Now Kai was ready to hump Kite's leg like a dog, or to slobber over Rin given half the chance. And considering what Kai had seen of the other camp people it was not just him.
"You don't sound fine to me," Kite said. It was like Kai was hiding something, and Kite didn't like it when they hide something from him. Kite reached out and placed a hand on Kai's forehead. "Are you sure you're alright?" Maybe he was sick? No, there wasn't a temperature, so that wasn't it.
Kite doing something his mom would have done should have turned Kai off. Should have, but really it rather failed to. "Only my mom checks my temperature like that Eishirou, and how the heck are you going to tell if I have a fever when I'm sitting in hot water?" Kai grinned and pushed Kite back. "Maybe I should check if you have a fever! You're looking suspiciously hot." Kai wondered if that was laying it on too thick. But how was he supposed to get Kite to lay off? Kite was like a bloodhound when you tried to keep secrets of him and Kai wasn't good at keeping secrets anyway.
"No, you're not sick, and neither am I." Kite sat back in the tub, but kept his gaze at Kai. "You're not keeping anything from me, are you?" He asked. He might have a hunch. "Is it about Rin?"
"Er." Well, a little. Kai could at least talk about the Rin problems couldn't he? Then the Kite issues would be safe. "Well. Actually, no." Kai shrugged. "The hot water's just... hot?" Fuck. "Okay, I lied, I am keeping something from you and nothing you do will make me talk about it." That sounded decisive, if childish. Kai could handle decisive but childish.
So much for friendship. He'd always assumed... No. Kite sighed. Well, things were a little different than before. "Well, whatever," Kite said, frowning. He never said 'whatever'. Kite shouldn't be so disturbed about this. If Kai wanted to keep secrets, then he should. It would only become worse if he kept prying. No need to risk their friendship over some ridiculous secret.
Kai needed a head shrink. Maybe he needed something really hard to beat his head against. Did Kite look... or sound... dissapointed? Could it be true? "I like you." Kai's stupid mouth, which couldn't keep a stupid secret if his stupid life depended on it and his life might very well depend on it right now, blurted out. "In a... I want to slide tabs together way."
Kite was silent. In all honesty, he did not know how to handle confessions. There was one girl, right after the graduation ceremony, who had confessed. He had made her cry, and her friends had called him a jerk, and a cold hearted bastard. But what was he to do? He wasn't interested. Still. This was slightly different. A long, awkward moment passed before Kite spoke again. "I'd always thought you liked Rin better."
Kai weighed his options. He could climb out of the bath and see how far he could make it before Kite caught him or... "Eh? Oh." Kai shrugged. "There's no way to judge feelings. I don't like either of you more or less. Just different I guess." Rin was the fun friend who Kai'd like to fuck, and Kite was the HOT friend that Kai'd like to fuck.
"Mm." Kite couldn't find the right words to say what he wanted. If he wanted to say anything at all. He leaned back against the tub and looked up at the ceiling. His glasses had fogged up so Kite had to take them off and set them aside, next to Kai's cap. At least... At least he liked Kai enough not to be disgusted about his confession.
"So..." Kai wondered if he should ask if they could still be friends. Dammit, he was not the girl! "We can still be friends right?" Kite hadn't tried to drown him yet. Kite had not even moved away. Kite just looked contemplative. "Or... are you secretely crushing on Rin or something? You seemed awfully jealous about the kiss." Oh man.... that would suck. It would be really hot, but it would suck.
"What are you talking about?" Kite glanced back at Kai. "We... we'd always be friends, no matter what happens, right?" He remembered one of them saying that. Which one of them he couldn't remember. It could have been any of them, really. "Besides..." Kite took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I'm fine. With the way you feel. About me." Kite felt strange not being able to express himself in complete sentences. "I... can't promise a lot, but we can work something out. Right?"
"Hell, I figured you might reconsider." It was awkward getting confessed to! Kai always hated it when the girl's cried, it made Kai feel like he'd kicked a blind dog or something. Or stepped on a stupid hermit crab. Stupid, goddamn hermit crab. "Okay. Yeah! That sounds fine Eishirou." Kai looked at his fingers, examining just how pruny they were.
Everything will be alright now, right? Or so Kite hoped. Strange and confusing, that's how it felt right now. He wanted to take Kai's hand and kiss his fingers. No, not yet. There was a proper time and place for things like that. It just all felt so... strange. Like he'd left his comfort zone and was now standing in the middle of unknown territory. "I guess... we should take it slow," Kite said. This was probably the first time he'd ever felt... awkward.
"..er..." Kite did know that sounded like they were dating right? Kai bet Kite knew. Maybe? Or maybe Kite didn't know and Kai was just hearing things. "Slow is good! I like slow... sometimes." Generally never, but if Kite said slow then Kai would go slow.
Kite nodded. He couldn't help himself, really, reaching out to entwine his fingers in Kai's. "Slow is good," he repeated, smiling, bringing Kai's hand to his lips to kiss the knuckles. Now... if only he could walk up to Rin and say what he had to.
Kai's brain hit a mental wall. While bits of brain matter went one way, and other bits of brain matter went the other way, a lot of blood was rushing straight down. "Yeah." Kai's brain slowly reassembled itself. "Slow is good." The blood gone south however did not return to the body parts that needed it. That had to be why Kai's fingers were tingling. Blood loss.
Kite held Kai's hand for a few more moments. He squinted at Kai; he couldn't see very well without his glasses. "Are you alright?" He took his glasses with his other hand and put them on; they weren't fogged up anymore. "You don't look so good. Maybe we've been in the bath for too long..." Their fingers were pretty pruny by now. But he smiled a little-- Kite still held Kai's hand in his.
Kai shook his head, water droplets flying off his hair like a dog's wet fur. "Heat's going to my head, I guess." Kai's heart gave a queer little th-thump at Kite's smile. Oh man, this was going to be weird. Loving Kite was going to kill him.
"We should get going," Kite said, standing up and pulling Kai with him. He watched as the water slid down Kai's body, the ends of his hair still dripping water. It was, Kite noted, very pleasing to the senses. He enjoyed the view very much. "Shall we?"
Kai felt the sudden need to prove his manliness. Or maybe just the fact that he was not the girl. "Er." Kai's tongue however had decided that bows wouldn't be too bad, so long as they were in his mouth. "Yeah." Were they dating? Shit, where they dating?! Kai followed Kite out of the bath, his eyes tracking drops of water on Kite's body and reluctantly being pulled away when he realized he was staring.
Kite handed Kai his towel when they reached their cubbies. He took his time, drying himself off, often casting glances back at Kai, memorizing the way he moved, how his muscles curved when he bent over this way... In a way Kite was teasing himself, denying himself the pleasure of touching Kai. Once fully dressed, he put his glasses back on and smiled to himself. "Are you ready?" Kite asked, looking back at Kai. Maybe, once he got Kai and Rin in one room with him, maybe then he could indulge himself.
Kai knew Kite was sneaking peeks at him. It was more than Kai sensing Kite's eyes on him, though Kite's gaze made the hair's on Kai's arms stand up. Kai caught Kite looking out of the corner of his eye. It was... it was weird. Kite looked really intense and it made Kai feel squirmy. Kai wasn't sure if it was a good squirmy or a bad squirmy, it was just squirmy. Kai dressed as quickly as possible and was using the towel to rub the dampness out of his hair when Kite was finished. "Er..." Kai gave his hair one final pat and placed his hat on his head. "Yeah, ready."
"Let's go," Kite said. He combed his hair back with his hand and took Kai's with the other. Kite could get used to this. They didn't have to be together everyday, but just the thought that he could do more with Kai now made Kite's day.
