Seven Things

Sometimes you just spend the night watching both Tron movies with your besties and then somehow stay up through all Monster High webisodes well into the morning and then you go home but realize that it's past Stupid O' Clock and there's no going back and you just decide to stay up because you have coffee and a meme to fill out ( Read more... )

Here's a late response to your rather prompt one! post_hummus February 29 2012, 08:45:37 UTC
Will never get over Tron, EVER. Watching Legacy again, even when it's been a YEAR, I was still awestruck as when I first saw it in theaters. There is not a single moment where that movie ISN'T beautiful. IT'S A FEAST FOR THE EYES
and haaaaaa i love how we were all tearing up at the father-son reunion. THE EMOTIONS

I'm really glad that you enjoyed The Last Unicorn as much as you did! Honestly, when I saw it as a youngin', the only part my brain thought worthy of remembrance was Schmendrick being smothered by Tree Tits. Yeah, says a lot. But once I viewed it again many years later, I was sincerely moved by the overall poignancy of the story.

Oh goodness, Mad Monster Party. Well...we saw it, all right! Haha. Dune FINALLY came in, but I'm not sure when we'll be able to watch it, since we're hanging with Paul on Friday and then Robert's birthday is the following Saturday...OH, you know, I just realized the Sunday after the party is Dr. Sketchy day. Yikes. Think you'd be up for it?

Yep, the berserkers sure like their meat, haha! The avarians are neutral, in that they tolerate both sides but aren't directly involved. Though they're probably on better terms with the berserkers, because they have a similar sense of community.

OHMYGOSH! Are you talking about Ophelia? Or her wife? SPOILERS OH MYHGAGJDGJGJGJDKSGJKSG but I do see what you mean. It can still be fun, though, really getting into a certain bit even if it isn't supposed to have much consequence. Maybe it could, you never know!

YAY FOR GAYS. I mean, BRITISH TELLY! Now, cross-dressing is just a part of history for England (plays and all that), so it must just come naturally for the actors. ;P

Yeah, I attended Waldorf while on Whidbey Island, which is a trip in itself. It's amazing how vividly I remember it, too, because I was only there for kindergarten, ha! Just proves how much of an impact it had on me. My teacher's name was Rosemary, too. *raises eyebrows*

The birdie icon is just a silly thing that tennathing doodled years ago, and I just loved its derpyness so much that's now immortalized forever. The last one is actually Gary Oldman, being young! Youngman! It's from Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, a rather witty take on Hamlet's two buddies.

Man I forgot how FULL OF EMOTIONS that movie is. Happy, touching, sad, nostalgic. Damn. Especially after watching '82 immediately before. It's certainly not a mystery as to why they're pretty much my favorite movies. There are a lot of movies these days that suffer from being completely visual and no plot and blank characters, but I'm glad Legacy is far from being a victim of that.

I guess we'll have to see how Saturday night goes! Hell, Robert's so bad at staying up late that it probably wont be much different than any other Saturday night. XD It'd be a shame to miss Dr. Sketchy. I vote we go unless if we all feel too shitty. I guess we'll see! We'll get to Dune eventually. Unless if you urgently need to send it back for something else.

We need to have like a writing/story development group, if we weren't all bashful overly self conscious bastards (me & Robert included). I JUST WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR CHARACTERS FOREVER. ♥

Bahaha yeah and I do mean Ophelia's wife, Deborah. She has no bearing on the story and yet I really enjoy them as a couple. MAYBE A PREQUEL STORY IDK. It might have to happen.

HAH y'know I didn't even think about the cross dressing/plays connection. I GUESS THAT MAKES SENSE HUH?

HEEHEE DERPY BIRD. Fun. :D Oh hey and isn't Rosencrantz & Guildenstem on Netflix? Should I give it a watch? .... that icon forever makes me think of the "YOU JIVE TURKEY" because it was the icon you had on AIM at the time. skaldjoaisdj *snorts*

Agreed agreed agreeeeeeeed. I'm super picky about movies, especially ones that, as you mentioned, think that by adding over-the-top visuals will make up for flat characters and plot. NOPE, nope, nosiree. It also helps that CGI just seems to be made purely for TRON!

Though, I somehow came upon this last night, and it's totally worth sharing. Stop-motion Tron!

(also omg, 'Separate Ways' by Journey just started playing while typing this HAHAHA)

Bah! ROBERT AND HIS NORMAL SLEEP SCHEDULE. BAH, I SAY! Nah, I'll just have to make sure to go home earlier than usual, since Dr. Sketchy is pretty much an all-day thing. I can hang onto Dune, it takes me awhile to get around to watching the DVDs I rent anyway, haha.

We should arrange that, somehow! It's natural to be self-conscious when sharing ideas, I think. But keeping in mind that it's your story and you can do whatever you like, there's really no right nor wrong. Actually, answering your question really got me thinking about that world again. Time to take it off the back-burner!

Awwwww, Deborah. ;; I was just thinking you could use that as a sort of prequel or spin-off of some sort! Of course, I'd really love to see more of your characters in general, and more art of them. *NUDGEWINKNUDGE*

ACTORS COME FROM A LONG LINE OF CROSS-DRESSERS, IT'S IN THEIR BLOOD.

Speaking of, yes, R&G Are Dead is on instant-play! I'd suggest giving it a watch if you're interested. A lot of the "action" is within the dialogue, but the witty repartee between the two make it for me (obviously, I have the screenplay!). He must be having a Jive Turkey sandwich LOLLLL but that is funny, because I don't recall having him as my AIM icon! It's usually good ol' Bill.

ah gahd cardboard Tron! I remember seeing this a while back hurrrr. XD

OH HEY I JUST REALIZED, that weekend is the weekend my Spring Break starts! I wont have school to worry about! MWAHAHAHA. EXCITEMENT. Yeah that was random. Maybe if we're not too exhausted we could watch Dune after Dr. Sketchy. We'll see! It quite a load to take in.

WE SHOULD! That way we can all ask each other questions about the characters, even ones we don't really know and maybe should! Robert has been trying to think up some worlds lately. He wants to get into writing.
