Kingsley Shacklebolt lounged back in his chair, waiting for the last department head to finish his speech. The Department of Mysteries had always been known for its lack of information shared with others and that morning was no different. After a quick note of a new office opening, the wizard sat down at a table with other six department heads. Glancing over the agenda in his hand, Kingsley stood.
While normally, staff meetings were just department heads and himself with smaller meetings within departments, Kingsley invited the entire Ministry for a quarterly meeting to discuss some future plans. In the moment it took for him to speak, several smaller conversations began, producing a loud murmur that filled the room.
"Before we conclude this meeting, I have a few announcements. First, I would like to congratulate the press office for planning and holding a wonderful memorial on the Battle of Hogwarts anniversary. The fountian adds to the already beautiful grounds of Hogwarts. We all lost loved ones last year and we are making great strides to rebuild." A small round of applause went throughout the room before Kingsley held his hand for silence.
"Speaking of rebuilding, Hogwarts will complete their final stages of physical reconstruction this summer and plans for possible curriculum changes are in the works. Headmistress Minerva McGonagall has invited the Ministry, as well as myself, to the End of the Year feast to show support for the new graduates." He paused to scan the room. Making a point to look at all the office heads in the eye, he said, "Office and Department heads are highly recommended to attend."
He took a moment to look back at his notes. "That concludes today's meeting. We shall reconvene with this full assembly in three months. Have a good Monday." Another round of applause filled the room as he gathered his notes and began to weave his way through the crowd toward his office. While it was still early in the day, he felt as if he'd been there for hours.
