Roger on her arm, Katie paid her respects to both her parents, then led him quickly away, out by the grotto where she was sure that she and what other young people there might be could enjoy themselves without the confines of expensive decor.

Katie took a flute of champagne for herself and one for Roger and leaned in to tell him she hoped Alicia would show up soon and help keep her entertained. It was likely to be a boring night of high society types putting on airs and she took comfort in that one of her best friends would be there to help stir up a little fun.

Athena walked into the Grotto, wearing a beautiful evening dress she'd found in Muggle London, having actually taken time off from working to do something for herself. It felt nice to pamper herself, having gotten her hair and nails done as well. Her hair was in loose curls, framing her face, making her look a bit younger, like she had in school.

She looked over at Charlie, wondering how bored he would be tonight.

Athena looked wonderful and Charlie really didn't mind dressing up on occasion. Especially when the occasion didn't come with his mum trying to muck about with his hair. He'd had a hair cut and shaved, of course, because despite evidence to the contrary, Charlie Weasley did have manners and knew how to dress to impress and how to behave in polite company.

He dipped his head and spoke softly in Attie ear, "I should have brought one of George's Wheezes to spike the punch. Bet it would be a hoot to get everyone out here skinny dipping." He looked at one of the snotty old birds giving his red hair a once over and sticking her nose in the air. "Well, maybe not everyone."

Athena chuckled. "As amusing as that sounds... how about I charm the bathtub into a pool later and we go skinny dipping?" She whispered back, looking about for her mum, nervous she would hear her, no matter how far away she was. That was what mums were good at after all.

"You look dashing, by the way, darling."

Charlie chuckled, "Now that sounds like a plan. Although if you came back to my cottage, the bath is already big enough for two." His accommodations in Romania had been no where near as nice. Or as private.

"Thanks, love. I know I already told you how wonderful you look, but I'm telling you again. I'm bound to be the envy of every bloke here. Plus, you smell amazing." Charlie sniffed her neck.

"All right, that sounds fun and dirty." She said with a smile.

"Do I? And what is that smell, exactly?"

"It could be, but don't worry. I'll get you nice and clean," he winked.

"Not sure beyond that it smells girly and fabulous. I think it might be your shampoo because you almost always smell like that when I get close enough." Charlie just knew he liked it.

"What do you say we act like grown-ups and mingle before your mum finds us off in a corner snogging? Who's the bloke with Katie? He looks familiar but I can't place him." Charlie thought he was probably younger, closer to Katie's age than his.

"That's Roger Davies, I think. We met over drinks awhile back," she said, taking his arm.

"So... mingling?" She asked, thinking he was right in distracting themselves before her mum found them.

Felipe could help but grin wider when he walked in with Leanne. She was the most beautiful girl there he thought. Since they were going to meet his mother that night, Felipe thought it would be good to get her nice a relaxed with katie first.

"Hello Katie. Nice digs."

"Felipe, good to see you out and about," said Katie, as she handled slight train of her flowing, steely gray dress. She kissed Leanne on each cheek, marveling at her gorgeous, ruffly purple gown.

"Champagne?" a roving server asked, holding out a tray of flutes for Leanne and Felipe.

Felipe nodded, grabbing two glasses, handing one to Leanne before taking a drink. "Yes. I'm surprised my boss let me out after to big announcement yesterday."

He leaned closed to Leanne's ear and whispered, "You are ravishing. I;m the envy of every bloke here."

Leanne took the flute from Felipe and kissed his cheek. "Well, it's not as if half the wizarding world isn't here, anyway, by the looks of things."

Katie's parents' estate was full almost to overflowing with arriving guests and serving staff.

She shivered at his whisper and her face flushed pink. "And I'm the envy of every girl."

Taking the opportunity, he kissed her below her ear. "Why don't we finish these and then look around?" While Felipe had every intention of finding his mother just to get the introduction over with, he didn't want Leanne to become nervous.

"Stand up straight, quit slouching." Neville stiffened his spine and tried to smile at his Gran's prodding. He'd been trussed up like a turkey and here he was. He had Gran by the arm, helping her get around, but she decided she wanted to sit and enjoy the Bell's lovely piano. After sending him to get something for her to drink and nibble on. He stood over her, fidgeting for a moment before she waved him off to go enjoy the grotto outside ( ... )

Cho was gazing up at Percy, about to tell a joke, when the collision occurred.

She cried out, holding her arms rigidly to her sides, and took several steps back. Neville's speech was blurred in her ears (Is there anything I can do?) as she stared down at the ruined silk, jaw dropping. For a few moments she struggled for speech, feeling tears sting the corners of her eyes, and then brought a hand to her mouth. Her face colored considerably as she searched for the words.

"Oh, Neville! Um... Nice to see you..."

She was too shocked to react with anger, as she very well might've; instead Cho stared blankly, offering him a meek smile. Poor boy was more flustered than she was. "Don't worry, it just needs a charm -- then it'll be good as new, hopefully."

Hopefully.

"Oh, Cho, I'm so sorry." Neville felt miserable. Bad enough his clumsiness might make himself look a fool, but it was another thing to make a lady look bad. And it was such a lovely dress. "You look brilliant. I mean, despite the spill. I promise, I'll pay for replacing it, I didn't mean to upset you." He gave her a very worried look. "My charms work wouldn't fix this, I don't think, else I'd try. Don't want to ruin it further."
