He hated wearing a tie. Adjusting the simple silk tie, Tiberuis Ogden walked down the hall toward the Atrium of the London Headquarters. The press had gathered and was waiting with great anticipation to hear what the Minister had to say. He crossed to podium, where Mary McDonald was answering a few question before announcing him.
"Thank you all for coming. I have a short statement I would like to make about the plans for upcoming months. I will not be taking any questions afterward. So here we go.
"As we enter into the next era of this modern time, we must continue to work towards reconstruction and growth. This administration will strive to continue the great work of our fallen brother, Kingsley Shacklebolt, push for more economic growth and international cooperation and bring this community back into the height of glory.
"First and foremost, we must open our borders to bring in industry and help encourage outside trade. Both the British and French Departments of International Magical Cooperation and Magical Transportation are working together to open up Apparation points across the pond and towards quicker and simpler travel regulations. As one of our closest neighbor, France has been eager to work with us to open up trade between the two countries.
"As international trade begins to bring a growing need for goods and services, the economy will continue its steady climb to stability. Workers and industry will flourish and add income to those entering the workforce, which is always a benefit to the economy. As a sign of our secure economy, the Department of Magical Games and Sports will hold a meeting with Quidditch owners and captains to discuss reopening the league. While no date has been set, I, personal, will see it as a sign of our growth and stability in our economy to see the games begin again.
"Lastly, I would like to announce a new program. With so many of us losing loved ones in the War and many still missing, there will be a census taken of all wizarding beings and creatures. With an accurate count of our numbers, we will be able to better represent the wizarding community. I hope that with this information that the policies and regulations passed during my administration reflect what is best for all those in the wizarding world.
"Again, thank you all for coming."
Tiberuis stepped away from the podium and quickly toward the lift, leaving Mary to deal with the shouting questions and members of the press.
