She was early, and Percy was glad. He had guessed that meeting up with George and Ginny would be a big deal in the way that him actually going to the shop for the first time had been a big deal, and the more time she had to prepare herself the better. Percy opened the door and greeted her with a short, tight hug and kiss.
"As ready as I'll ever be," Percy assured her. "But you are a half an hour early." He paused, resolving to get his own nervousness out of the road before anyone else showed up. "Will your father be joining us at all?"
Cho hadn't said anything about it, and Percy didn't want to assume and spent the evening almost jumping out of his skin waiting to run into the man, so it didn't hurt to ask.
Cho flung herself into Percy's embrace, briefly nuzzling her head into his shoulder. "Hi! I missed you. Are you excited?"
What a question.
She took a step backward, sliding her hands down to hold his; the anticipation of the festival had gotten her somewhat giddy, but she still couldn't help the nervousness in her smile. It was as though she were about to take a complicated test - problem being, of course, that she had no idea what to expect from it. There was no easy way to prepare for things like this, really, except extra primping; but even now, feeling sufficiently lovely, Cho was all nerves. She bounced lightly on her heels, tossing her hair.
"Oh, father? I owled him yesterday, but... I don't know. I wouldn't expect him."
This she said flippantly, brows knit. "He never answered."
He could tell she was more nervous, however, and suppressed his own. For now. There was enough potentially to worry about already, and it didn't do to dwell. He smiled at the feel of her hands in his--so soft and smooth--and squeezed her fingertips a little.
"Ginny and George have to close up the shop yet, so they're probably be a little late. But since I have you to myself, is there anything special I should know so I don't make a complete fool out of myself?"
Cho's description and what little reading he'd done had made the rituals and prayers seem straightforward but if there was even the slightest chance of running into the elder Mr. Chang, Percy wasn't taking any chances.
From what she remembered of the festival, things were relatively straightforward - but how much of that was because she was so accustomed to it? It was hard sorting out things someone who had never been there wouldn't understand, or might find out of the ordinary; all that was coming to mind was how badly she wanted crispy duck.
Regardless, there seemed nothing to worry about. Percy's respectful nature would save him, in any case.
Cho smiled. "It's really very simple. Just follow my lead." She closed the distance between them, pressing her hips into his. "I'll make sure it's all right."
Ginny was running a bit late - what the appropriate type outfit to wear to something like this? - and she found herself knocking on Percy's door almost five minutes late. This was going to be an interesting experience, but she thought it was important to go. She was coping well with Fred's death, but she knew Percy wasn't (or George, if Percy had the stones to invite him and George had them to come). She wanted to be here for moral support for them. Besides, it'd be nice to send Fred a note telling him he better be raising hell, wherever he was.
Time had flown with just the two of them there talking, so when someone knocked on the door, his eyes first darted to the wall clock. Stroking Cho's head once reassuringly, Percy strode to the door and opened it, glad to see Ginny.
And a little disconcerted at the lack of George. Regardless, Percy hugged Ginny lightly and invited her in. "I'm glad you could make it," he said earnestly. "Any idea if we're expecting one more?"
Cho lingered behind Percy, having to fight hard to keep from fidgeting with her hair or skirt. Taking her place at his side, she smiled nervously to Ginny, almost offering her a hand to shake. Is that even appropriate?
"Hi."
Regardless of nerves, however, her voice somehow managed to retain its confidence -- Cho was even taken slightly aback. Beaming shyly, she nodded. "Nice to see you."
Ginny gave Percy a hug. "It's good to see you, Perce," she told him with a smile. "I don't know if George is coming. He hasn't said a word to me either way."
She stuck her hand out to shake at Cho's smile. The woman looked nervous, of all things. It made Ginny feel a little bit better about her. If Cho was intimidated, maybe she'd be a bit more afraid of stomping all over Percy's heart. "Hi Cho. Nice to see you, too," Ginny said genuinely, smiling.
