It was another late night for Neville. Mr. Lemuel tried to get him to leave at closing, but Nev could always think of five more things he needed to do before closing. He didn't exactly have anyone to rush home to, and most evenings ate over the sink, a quick sandwich before he hunkered into reading the latest on hybrids, or designing new landscape plans for future customers.

He wasn't looking where he was going, lost in a mental debate about heading to the Leaky for dinner, when he ran into someone. Reflexes fast, his arms shot out to make sure he didn't overbalance the other person. Hearing their apology, he met somewhat familiar, but not recently seen eyes.

"No problem. My fault." He said, brushing the bloke's shoulder's off. "Sorry, I think we know each other, but my memory's a bit fuzzy."

Not one to forget a face, he smiled widely. "Justin Finch-Fletchley." he introduced himself, glad to see yet an other familiar face around. It wasn't a rare occurance seeing as he lived and worked on Diagon Alley, but it still pleased him. Especially Neville Longbottom whom he had been in Dumbledore's Army with and from what he had heard afterwards, had worked hard to keep it going while he was incarcerated.

He seriously had all his admiration.

"We, um, we were in DA together. Fifth year." his brows furrowed slightly then his expression softened as he chuckled. "Seems like a lifetime ago most of the time."

Neville broke out into a smile. "Justin! How've you been, mate? Haven't seen you for ages." Another face of the DA that had gotten lost in the passing of time. Nev felt bad about it, truly he did, but he was just shite at keeping up with people.

"Right, right. Yeah, does. Course, I still sometimes do a double-take in the mirror, thinking, "Who's that bloke and why does he look so puzzled?" Nev shook his head, grinning. "So, what've you been up to since?"

"Um, well yeah ages as it seems. Sometimes I just lose track of the passing time and I end up realising that five years is an aweful lot of time." he reflected, but then shook his head to bring himself back to the conversation.

"Neville, as far as I'm concerned you've always looked puzzled back then. If anything, I was thinking maybe you wouldn't anymore..especially after.." Justin stopped and frowned. It felt like he shouldn't be talking about the Battle of Hogwarts and the whole snake ordeal. Most of the time, he felt like he had no rights talking about it, since he wasn't even there to begin with.

He looked towards the buildings and nodded towards one of them. "I work at the Blue Twilight. Usually some insanely long hours or screwed up shifts, but hey, I'm at the bottom of the food chain. I also live around here. What about you? Still into Herbology?" he asked, just a bit excited about chatting up with a former classmate.

Justin's eyebrow raised at Neville as he stared at the Gryffindor. "Why would you do that?" He may have been a gullible Hufflepuff, but he never quite believed in all those weird animals.

Biting in his sandwich again, Justin reflected a little about what Neville said, about moving on. And he agreed. Even though he knew war was part of his past and he couldn't escape it, he had to move on. "Which is why I don't like talking about it much, ya know." he told Neville after he had swallowed his bite. "We just slipped onto the topic, but most of the time I'm more than happy to be.. happy."

Neville shrugged. "Didn't say I would. But I could make the choice to do so if I wanted." All came back to choice.

Yeah, Nev could see how Justin would want to put it behind him. "Understood. So, who do you favor, the Harpies or Puddlemere United?" He could change topics easy enough.

Justin bit his lower lip, clearly shy about the answer. "I um, I am not a fan of Quidditch. And before you say anything, I have something to say for my defense." he said quickly before sighing.

"I prefer football." he said, his teeth catching his lower lip again, a faint blush coloring his cheeks.

Nev gave him a puzzled look. So he didn't like Quidditch. Wasn't the end of the world as Neville knew it. He knew a bit about football, thanks to rooming with Dean for six years.

"Ah. Who do you support? Dean Thomas and Seamus used to yak about it all the time. Sounded like fun, even if you can't fly in it." Nev was a bit bewildered as to why Justin would get so embarrassed, but it might be a muggleborn thing.
