"You have to be strong, Teddy."
Theo snapped awake, having accidentally dozed off while he was trying to sort through the contents of his father's desk. His mother's words in the memory echoed in his head and he shook his head, hard. He'd not slept well since... well. He woke most nights in a cold sweat hours before dawn, face wet, and unable to return to sleep. He was exhausted but unable to do much of anything about it.
He raided the liquor cabinet, downing 2 glasses of whiskey in short order so he could try and sleep. It was early still, but he hadn't slept more than an hour or so in a few days. He lay there, feeling the alcohol course through his system, but everytime he closed his eyes, he saw his father's eyes, dark and utterly insane, and broke into a cold sweat. What was to say he wasn't going to turn out just as mad as his father?
Finally at 10 or so, he changed into a shirt and trousers and apparated to the Three Broomsticks. Buying a bottle from the bar, he mounted the stairs to Daphne's room. Hopefully the alcohol might be inducement for her to help him out. He knocked, and prayed she would hear him out before tossing him out on his arse.
