Date: 24 May 2000
Location: Her flat.

Completion: Complete

Strumming some chords of a Beatles song, Mandy thought about how to finish her newest song. The lyrics were there, but the chords, not so much. Generally, she wrote them together, but she’d woken in the middle of the night with words and had gone with it, now she was stuck.

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it need sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps

I don't know why nobody told you
how to unfold you love
I don't know how someone controlled you
they bought and sold you

Ugh. Mandy sighed. Now everything was sounding like the Beatles. She needed to stop this.

Looking over her lyrics again, she strummed her guitar, slowly.

Please speak softly, for they will hear us
And they'll find out why we don't trust them
Speak up dear, 'cause I cannot hear you
I need to know why we don't trust them

Explain to me this conspiracy against me
And tell me how I've lost my power

Where can I turn? 'Cause I need something more
Surrounded by uncertainty, I'm so unsure
Tell me why I feel so alone
'Cause I need to know to whom do I owe…

The B flat minor in 9 didn’t sound too-

Mandy perked up a bit and grabbed her pen, writing feverently.

And when we get home, I know we won't be home at all
This place we live, it is not where we belong
And I miss who we were in the town that we could call our own
Going back to get away after everything has changed

Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?

She was on a roll. A band rehearsal was in order. They’d be big, soon, she knew it.
