Pansy thanked Madam Malkin once again. It would be nice to have a few steady customers for her designs again. She had put the finishing touches on her fall collection and was out pushing for orders now. Her business wasn't built up to full yet, that would take more than a single season. She had a start now, though, and that was what she wanted. Madam Malkin had placed a small order today. Twilfit and Tatting's had turned her down flat, but Gladrag's had placed an order yesterday, both for the traditional robes and her new sportswear collection. If it sold as well as she hoped, Pansy decided she would have to make a set in the right size for that broad-shouldered Weasley's girlfriend since he'd given her the idea that witches might like a sportier line of clothing.
Checking her watch, she saw that she had an hour before her next appointment. She decided to treat herself to a scoop of Fortescue's. Pansy entered the ice cream shop thinking about her favorites and how her parents had always bought her ice cream when they came for her Hogwarts supplies. It was a tough decision between the double chocolate and the cinnamon, but cinnamon ice cream won out in the end.
Pansy took her dish of ice cream outside to sit at one of the little tables. She could enjoy her treat and people watch. It was good for getting an idea of what sort of designs would appeal to the masses. If she wasn't going to custom design her fashions, she needed her designs to have broad appeal.
