Spirits Three of Knockturn Alley was broken into last night, not two weeks after the destructive robbery at Scribbulus Everchanging Inks in Diagon Alley.
According to Ministry press secretary Mary McDonald, the attack took place sometime after midnight, but did not last long.
"The merchandise became aware of a disturbance in the shop and began to make lots of noise," McDonald said.
Willard Reynolds, owner of Knockturn's shrunken head shop, who happens to live in the flat above the shop, said he awoke to the noise and went down to investigate.
"Shocked wouldn't describe the feeling I had when I entered," he said. "All the heads were screaming and carrying on. Half a dozen were spinning themselves around."
While the robbers were not found at the scene, they did manage to empty the till as well as half the safe, which was housed in a back room, according to Reynolds. He went on to say, even though the heads were awake during the burglary, the heads could not seen anything.
Unlike Scibbulus Everchanging Inks, Spirits Three was left relatively intact, with little to no destruction to the merchandise.
"That is what probably woke them up; someone tried to touch [one of the heads]," Reynolds said.
McDonald flatly denied any connection to the Scibbulus case citing that the incidents were not the same.
"We do not have any evidence that supports that this case is related to the one in Diagon, the Aurors have told me there are several differences," said McDonald. "Of course, we ask that anyone with information please contact the Ministry at once."
