“I’m just saying, you’re one of the boys, what’s the big deal?”
Mandy rolled her eyes. Oh, I don’t know, how about because you don’t just randomly snog the boys.
“There is no big deal. I’m trying to work here, you big prat. Now leave.” Mandy used her hand to shoo him away as she grabbed a copy of The Jungle off the shelf, done with Paradise Lost.
“Why? All you’re going to do is read all day. I‘m surprised this place stays in business.”
“We get by.”
“Yes, I’m sure you do. Have fun with all these customers.” He said, motioning to the empty store before leaving.
Mandy gave him the finger on his way out, returning to her book. It was a Saturday morning, no one got up early to come to a bookshop. It gave her some time to read. Perfect for her.
