Above the swishing of the sea and the crackling of fire, George could hear laughter and voices and they followed the sounds until their shoes hit the sand.
'Sorry for the quick exit. No patience for Mum's questions on an empty stomach.'

"Don't worry," Katie whispered in his ear. "I can handle almost any kind of question with grace... that's why they pay me to do my job." She laughed.

'I'm most sure. But this is my mother and it's simply more pleasant the longer we avoid it. Luckily everyone else seems attached at the hip so maybe she just wont bother.' Other than insisting to send food once in a while, George hadn't heard much from his mother lately. She was either slowly getting the hint that he didn't want her pity, or he was better than usual at avoiding her.

She didn't want to rush anything, but she knew she could handle anything George's mum could throw at her. Aside from the fact she was a practiced answerer or questions, she knew that she was a good candidate for girlfriend of George Weasley and she was well liked by many of her peers, as well as their parents. She was sure when Molly Weasley found out how she cared for her son, she would be won over.

It was quite the gathering. Not only were George's siblings there - ALL of them - but also, most of them had brought at least one other with them and, with a family the size they had, that made for quite the shindig. Athena was there with Charlie, toting a baby, as well; there was Percy with Cho; Bill, of course; George's parents; Ron and a brunette Katie didn't quite recognize, but thought she should; and even Madam Rosmerta. One could say whatever they liked about the Weasley clan, but Katie had her mind made up - they were about the best family she knew and she liked every one of them she knew - she couldn't wait to meet the rest.

'Oy! Gingers!' George shouted when they were close enough to catch anyone's attention. 'Fancy running into you lot.' George tightened his hold on Katie's hand and tried not to think about the one missing mop of red hair.
