Summary: Lavender and Neville catch up and exchange gifts for the holidays.

After running into Dennis in Diagon Alley, Lavender had finally righted herself on her shopping schedule and managed to get all her little owl post gifts wrapped. She had gingerbread baking in the oven and Pompom was running around her flat with a tiny little Santa Hat on his head.
It was almost enough to make her feel safe and happy. You really shouldn't be afraid on Christmas, Lavender decided. It was hard, but she was going to be foolhardy, Gryffindor brave.
Besides, she had to be cheery. Neville was going to love his gift.
They'd both been so busy, they'd not seen each other but a few times in the halls of their building, or shuttling an owl back and forth with quick messages. It was nice to finally find some time between the two of them that they could catch up.
Lavender pulled the gingerbread out of the oven - perfect, thank you very much! - just a few minutes before Neville was set to arrive. She still couldn't cook, but she could make a mean cookie. Besides, it was Christmas. Who needed anything but sugar and treats anyway?
