You were supposed to look sensible when you went to ask for jobs. Although the books she had read spoke of interviews and Luna wasn't sure if this was as interview as much as it was her dropping into Eeylops looking quite hopeful after having seen the vacancy in the Prophet.
Truth be told, her experience of interviews stretched only as far as what books could tell her. Her chat with Wilhelmina about her apprenticeship had been just that; almost an audition to see if they would get along. Still, she had pinned her hair up (with proper clips this time, not her wand and quills) and charmed it so the usual fly-away strands didn't ruin the illusion of responsibility. Luna was perfectly responsible, but she didn't seem to fit most people's image of a responsible person.
Dressed in the most
sensible outfit she owned (although, arguably, it wasn't all that sensible since it was hardly practical, just smart and sort of 'normal'-looking), she stood in front of Eeylops and wrinkled her nose at the door. She was a little unsure about the outcome of this. And she felt uncomfortable in this skirt.
Pushing open the door, she glanced around at the owls that had snubbed her when she bought Nous and strained her neck to check for signs of human life.
"Hello?" Luna began to move towards the counter. "I've come about the job vacancy."
