Characters: Madam Rosmerta Location: The Three Broomsticks Date: October 31, 1999 Status/Warnings: Open/None Summary: Party at the Swamp Completion: In progress
Charlie hadn't expected to have the evening off but Ernie's kids had been invited to a Muggle friend's to do that Trick or Treating bit where the tots run about and scavenge candy from neighbors. His wife decided to go along just in case, so Ernie had decided to cover the shift allowing Charlie to get out. He'd sent an owl to Athena to let her know he'd be at The 3Bs if she was able to join him

Cho was certain she would not enjoy any Halloween parties. For the most part, she'd spent the past few Halloweens with her cousin -- feeling awkward dressed as a fairy or angel in front of people she barely knew -- and the holiday had sort of lost its charm. But this Halloween there was no reason not to try and be social; she always looked cute in a costume, at least. And she'd promised herself not to stay at home and mope, even if it meant distracting herself with old classmates.
Sigh.
Wandering into the swamp without Percy -- she hadn't bothered to ask if he'd be able to make it, wanting to reassure herself that she could indeed make appearances without him -- Cho was immediately (stereotypically) drawn to Charlie's costume. Her own was a slightly vague Alice in Wonderland she had enchanted to sparkle lightly as she walked. Hiding behind a cup of swamp juice, she made her approach. "Hello, Charlie. I like your costume."
Cho beamed. She'd been hoping to better acquaint herself with Percy's elder brothers; though she'd known Ginny and Ron for years now (not that they really knew one another) she'd never quite gotten the same chance with the rest of his family. "Yes, why not?"
Smoothing her skirt, she took a sip of the swamp juice, ignoring the buzz of alcohol. I need to grow up anyway. "Only practising so far. We have a performance in December."
"Holiday music?" he asked. Charlie loved Christmas music... mostly. That Celestina woman, her carols, and her cauldron full of hot love he could do without. Unfortunately, his mum loved her. "Do you do repeat the program over several nights or is it just the one performance?"
"Holiday music, yes," Cho nodded. "But... more classic than contemporary. No hot strong love or anything, don't worry. I repeat it over a two week period."
"Special tonight is Swamp soup. A spicy split pea." she said before leaving him to grab a pint of the beer. Returning, she asked if he want that or something off the regular menu.
"You got it, love." she said with a wink before walking into the kitchen and preparing Charlie a plate. The chips were fresh and the fish only needed a few minutes to fry. She spooned some steamed carrots and green beans onto the plate.
Once the fish was ready, she finished up the plate and took it out to Charlie. "Here you go. Be back in a bit if you need anything else."

Nice of you to remember.
"My audition went very well, thank you." She brightened a little, cheered by the thought. "I got the position."

Charlie grinned at the news. "Congratulations! So what is happening now? Are you practicing or have you been performing too?"

"Do you have any of that fancy beer you had a while back? A few of my mates were here and said I needed to give a try."
