I tried so hard to get some one to cover my dancing shift on Friday, but to no avail. I wanted to make the $50 but for whatever reason I just really didn't feel like working. I ended up staying up late Thursday cleaning out my room of excess stuff I won't need to take with me when Mark & I move out. I filled up two large trash bags of items and they gave me a coupon for 20% off from the retail store which I'm gonna save cos Mark & I will probably need a cheap piece of furniture or something. Pretty cool, I didn't know they would do that.
Work ended up not being so bad, the theme was "Anything But Clothes" so I made a faux shimmy dress out of hair extensions. The picture doesn't do it justice, you have to see it in action when I'm shaking it to get the real effect. I wish I could have sewn hair around the back but I figured out that the fabric wouldn't stretch at all when I went to put it on. I was exhausted when I got there but my energy got up and I ended up working it out like I always do.
Here'd probably the best picture I got of the dress.
I had to wait until I got home that morning to get a
picture so I look more than a little gross, dancing in
a cage for 5 hours will make you a sweaty mess! ♥
Saturday night I went to try and watch the DC United game at pub downtown. Despite them advertising on their website that they were the meet up place for United Fans they didn't have the channel with the game on it. So I walked in there in the middle of summer with my scarf on looking like a missed the memo. Oh well. Our group then moved to Sticky Rice where we were awesome by my friend Old Rick's dance skills. Him and his boyfriend were well known leather boys in Richmond back in the day and it's pretty apparent that he's still got the moved he had back in his club days. I wish I had taken a picture of him.
I woke up this morning and Sparks & Courtney and me went to brunch then I went home. I wasn't trying to hang out all day, Sundays I sit at home, watch movies (or the Tribe) and generally be lazy. I need to set up Neo (my pup) a grooming appointment, he's stinky and he deserves to be pampered! So that's on the agenda tomorrow. Thinking about going and getting acrylics put back on so my nails won't fall apart more and more each day. Anyway this entry is getting boring so I'm gonna go. Hope everyone had a good weekend!
♥ P.S. - On an even more fabulous note, ordering the first Season
of the Judy Garland show off Amazon right about now. Love it!
