im not trying to defend their actions of rape at all, im just questioning it. like i said, im not sure if what i heard is true or not, that's just what i heard from somebody i know. id been certain that there was a rape until i heard that, so i really dont know. if there was actually a rape i would not be surprised at all.
also, i don't think that this has anything to do w/ racism. i think that they were just drunk and she pissed them off so they started throwing racial slurrs to piss her off back. the racist part of the whole thing is totally being overblown by the media to just make us more angry so the story stays jucier.
duke is seriously like a bigger evolved version of CA, ive noticed this. there's a couple of elitist pricks and people overly obsessed with popularity and the material world, but there's way more really cool people out there that arent like that. i dont like ur claim about our student body. by saying that our student body is "racist, sexist, and elitist" ur proving my point on what the media is doing to everybody by overgerneralizing the whole issue to the whole school. just like the lacross team at CA, it had some cool people in it, but definately a ton of the douschbags.
but seriously dude, u cant really think that the media isnt biased and that it reports the truth. there is bias in everything that the media does, whether they like it or not. like u said, they're reporting the news as they see it. this whole situation is a perfect story for the media and they're going to do anything to keep people's intrest alive, meaning they're going to twist and leave out things to make the story "better" and more convincing.
like in the email that they showed in the article where the guy said that he was going to kill them. right after that they quoted their coach, who said that it just showes that the kid who wrote it was a dickhead and doesnt have anything to do with the situation. seriously, i think he was just being a dick and joking about something in a way that most people wouldnt joke about something, but that doesnt change the fact that its still a joke. they totally put that in there just to make us hate them even more and to keep the hate alive, despite its complete lack of relevance to the situation.
