Halfway productive day...

So I took the day off of work today. I almost forgot to let work know that.

It would have been nice to go to work too. I got an email from my manager Dave saying he has a project I might be interested in. Writing an interface to some 3rd party software.

So anyways, the reason I took off work in the AM was because I had to be here when the water guy came to transfer service to my name. The reason I took off work in the PM was to finish installing blinds, put up some better insulation (2 inches of badly blown fiberglass is NOT good insulation), and general house stuff. For those of you who don't know, I bought a house at the end of December. It's pretty and big :)

One large caveat though: I won't be living in it until June (financial issues-- renting out my room until then). That sucks until I realize who I'll (probably) be living with in June: one of my coworkers Sowmya and one of her current roommates; Garrett and Geoff (unless he studies in Germany for a year instead) coming in June with me from the apartment. If that plays out, things will be swell. That's 4 long-term responsible roommates all over 23. I can deal with that.

Expect a house-warming party 2nd or 3rd week of June (might as well make it a bday party too!).

However, until then I have to deal with managing a house and an apartment (I'm the only person on the lease, expires May 31) which is a total of 9 people, doing the bills, a constantly changing budget, fixing random little things at the house, my normal job, attempting to have a decent relationship despite emotional attachment to a dead-end, and a social life. Meanwhile, all the people moving in is still up in the air. I'll be much happier come the first week of Feb, and just about drunk with relief come the housewarming!

Well, I must go: leases to make and bills to compile. Then maybe I can sit down and read one of the 4 books I am in the middle of or finish beating God of War II since my girlfriend Alyssa is off gallivanting in Northern France for the month.

Cheerio chaps!
