Unfortunately, Enterprise was a military ship. It's purpose was exploration, but it operated on tight schedules, and had a set of expectations from everyone serving aboard. 'Ted Nugent' wasn't an exception - though T'Pol wished he could be. It was awkward, knowing as much about Dean as she did, and being unable to share it. Explaining the Barge to the Captain wasn't exactly an option. So she did her best to discover why he was here on her own - while keeping him from turning every Starfleet order on its head.

"Crewman Nugent." It was actually difficult to call him by that name. She wondered if Sam was searching for him. "You're out of uniform."

"They're uncomfortable," Ted answered with a lull of his eyes in her direction. He slowly turned to face her out of respect for the superior rank but anything else but that was hidden in him. He was only in a white t-shirt and pants, he didn't think it was hurting anyone.

She pressed her mouth into a thin line; his attitude was trying, but patience was necessary here. "We follow protocol on Enterprise, Crewman. While you're on duty, you're to wear your duty uniform." The jumpsuits were useful, at least; she'd seen what the Starfleet uniforms would become, in a few centuries.

"Fine, I'll go get dressed," Dean said with a controlled tone. It was clear he didn't like them a call back to who he'd been before but couldn't remember, but he wasn't going to keep up the ignorance to the rules for long. He had give some to get some, or, so he assumed.
