And that's the week that was...

Good grief, as Charlie Brown once said. This has been an eventful week. And not just because of March Madness, either. Although it is part of it! hehe

First, on Tuesday was the monthly potluck. This time around, there was a March Madness/St. Patrick's Day theme to it, a hybrid agreed to by all four members of the committee. The event was moderately successful, as a decent amount of people came and partook in the chicken, pizza, and assorted chips, drinks, and desserts. And a few people took up the March Madness bracket challenge, and that, obviously, is still going on.

I somehow think this will be my last potluck, though. Not because it isn't fun...actually, it was okay, but I'm just kinda tired of putting one on. It simply takes too much time from my monitoring, and I need to concentrate on that.

On Wednesday, I went on vacation. In other words, I played lazer tag against Jamie and a couple of her friends. Eight games in four hours, none of which I won, but enjoyed. Well, those midnight team games need to go, but it was still fun, hehe.

Wednesday was also the first day for my new writing job with Examiner.com. I now write about Louisville-area theater productions and events. It pays, basically, pocket change, so there's not much involved with that. However, I will gladly take the opportunity if it means I can get back into journalism on my own terms. I have two articles up now at www.examiner.com/louisville.

On Thursday, it was the beginning of March Madness, although it was a different kind of madness for me. I worked on preparing a theatre resume and headshot for the next day's Music Theatre Louisville audition. I spent all day going back and forth between home, the library, and Kinko's in order to accomplish this feat. Remind me to get professional headshots when I get the money together.

Friday was the day of the auditions, and right from the beginning, I was in over my head. My vocal performance, to Del Shannon's Runaway, was flawed due to the piano player playing way out of my key. I had to start, correct him on that, and then go again. But my vocal simply wasn't there on the second time around, so that didn't help me, either. Meanwhile, the dance audition...I can dance, just not the moves they were showing us, and certainly not in that short amount of time we had to rehearse. Needless to say, I didn't get a callback. Oh, well. It was a learning experience. I did learn how to do the basic Charleston step, and I learned not to wear a dress shirt to a dance audition, lol.

Saturday was a day to relax. Didn't even have to drive the car any. I just did some laundry and watched some movies!

Now, it's Sunday. Already, I've been to church with Jamie, which was nice. We actually wore matching pants, and no, it wasn't planned, lol. She's going back to Murray today. In the meantime, I shall be going back to work later today. An eventful weekend, to say the least. Now, I shall go nap!
