everywhere around you
listen to the sound
when on the ground you

notice for the first time
the silence in the day
and maybe just for a minute
the noise can melt away

and everything is silent
as purity muffles the cries
and maybe for a moment
all the fighting dies

friends and family cuddle tight
and snow keeps falling everywhere in sight
no cracks in the ground
and all the world is right

sometimes when the snow falls
we cease to remember
that the peace we so desire
will never last forever
