You ought to check out "Endgame" by Samuel Becket. I found some strange comfort in it I can't quite describe, I guess it makes me feel a little less mad and alone.
so i viewed the wikipedia entry re becket and this quote from endgame only furthered my desire to read it.
"Nothing is funnier than unhappiness, I grant you that. ... Yes, yes, it's the most comical thing in the world. And we laugh, we laugh, with a will, in the beginning. But it's always the same thing.
