I really don't have anything to post about, but it made me sad to see that nobody had posted. Did everybody but me give up the internet for lent? Probably. Any way since I don't really have anything to post, I thought I post about yesterday's work day. This is pretty much a typical work day. I get to work about 8:30ish and I figure out what I'm supposed to do for the day. Then I clean our little coffee shop and baking kitchen that we have for the residents. At 10:00 I kicked butt at Scrabble, but the "old" lady I was playing against plays every day and knows tons of awesome words. I rarely beat her, but yesterday I won by 100 points. 11:00 is Mass, which I've been going to over my lunch break. After Mass I did some charting, and set up for our next activity, Jumbo Poker (a resident favorite). Then, I went to the floors and reminded people we were going to play poker and helped them to the game. Dealt Poker at 1:30, which is always a lot of fun. I try to make like they do at a church picnic, and they yell at me for dealing them the wrong cards. We had some extra time after poker, so I set up an impromptu game of Skipbo. The Skipbo game finally ended around 4:00 (I'm supposed to leave around 3:30), so I help one of the residents back up to her room. As I was settling her in, another resident had a case of the crazys and started yelling at the other that "this was her house, and she paid for every inch of it a long time ago. . ." needless to say I tried to calm her down. Then another resident (who also had the crazys) came along and started telling me off for no apparent reason (or at least none she could remember).
I know. I have such a rough life ;) Quite seriously this is a fairly common day for me. Granted I don't really get paid that much, but I do get paid to play games for a good chunk of the day.
Now that I think about it, I don't know that I've ever posted about what goes on on a regular basis. What do you guys do on an average day?
