HA HA.... she lives......
so... it's my fourth day here at the black rep, and this morning is shaping up quite nicely.
I love that I finally gave in and wore shorts to work, despite the hairy legs and chunky thighs... and now I'm spending the most of the morning in the office, which IS air conditioned...
wait, I'm getting ahead of myself.
When I arrived on Monday, early... with NO one else here... ok... after that, when people were here- I found out they want me to serve, basically, as their ME (master electrician) despite my protests that just because I designed a few shows in college does not make me knowledgeable enough to do this. Besides the fact that if I'm going to get paid as an intern, I only expect to have as much responsibility as an intern.
They just got a donation of over 200 used lighting instruments- none of which are ones I've worked with before, except the fresnels... which are still different' than ECs fresnels. And it has been deemed my job to inventory, label, rewire, and put C-clamps on all of them- woot (please note extreme sarcasm).
To those at EC: I don't know how your surviving the first couple days of school with out the bunny ears but it's good to know your managing-
Also, Sadly- loadin for the first show just HAPPENS to be the same weekend as rumors... maybe I can come up the weekend before tech runs?
Looks like I should be able to come up for Shrew (let me know when you all know the cast) but it looks like I probably won't be able to come to KC/ACTF... can someone else take my design from Antigone?
oh and the only reason I'm getting away with writing a big long post at work?....?...
everyone else is at staff meeting, except for the lowly intern... oh wait... I like that because it means I get to sit in the TD's office and play secretary for an hour! mmkk back to NOT sweating out in the unaircontioned shop.
